Investment Analyst

This is a great opportunity someone who is looking to develop their career as an Investment Analyst . In this role you will be supporting the New Business Investments team in delivering pricing inputs and investment solutions to back the Bulk Purchase Annuity (BPA) transactions underwritten by LGRI’s Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) business. You will complete asset and liability modelling based on client portfolio data and cash flows. You will be expected to help the team prepare market risk hedging instructions.

Duties include:

• Support team members in constructing optimal asset allocations to back new business transactions (PRT), maximising risk-adjusted return while securing future pension benefit payments.
• Evaluate any material changes to assumptions that underpinned pricing and determine whether these should be reflected in changes to the pricing and propositions.
• Liaise with various stakeholders to obtain and help process asset and liability information,
• Assist the team with regular hedging requirements linked to various business needs.
• Support Investment Managers in determining the viability of new assets with respect to likelihood of usage within LGRI’s strategic asset allocation and help compile feedback to asset structuring and business development teams. 
• Be a point of contact between LGRI and LGIM and help prepare responses to investment related queries, ensuring our investment solutions are delivered to the highest standard and create a win-win outcome for L&G and our clients.
• Contribute to various internal reporting requirements (New Business MI, Beta Monitor) that inform management on investment performance and forms an integral part in the investment decision making process.

• Degree educated or equivalent relevant experience 
• Analytical mind-set, with a high level of numeracy.
• Knowledge and understanding of Fixed Income Investments and derivatives.
• Ability to develop a good understanding of Liability-driven investing
• Excellent Excel skills.
• Good communication skills. 
• A focus on attention to detail, with a desire for innovation and continuous improvement.
• Preferred but not essential, experience in Asset Management, Banking, Insurance
