Job Description

Our communications team aims to increase the profile of our Institutional Retirement business with industry decision makers as well as ensuring our senior leadership team a voice in the industry. You will help the business to provide proactive market commentary, build relationships with journalists and increase our share of voice.

This role involves a combination of content drafting, project management, campaign work, reporting and administration. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders and experts from across our organisation. Examples of responsibilities include writing draft article outlines, press releases and social media posts, monitoring press coverage, monthly reporting, liaising with PR agencies, curating presentation materials, and project management for communications and marketing campaigns.

 

What you'll be doing 

  • Assisting in the production of original content, including media materials such as presentations, press releases, expert commentary, and briefing notes to support the business in delivering effective external communications. This will entail writing draft campaign plans, article outlines, and speaker bullets, to facilitate the publication of content in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining and updating our social media channels and managing a regular flow of creative content output. This includes drafting social media, scheduling regular posts, working with visual media to create compelling graphics and reporting.
  • Co-ordinating and organising a range of media PR interviews and events to help build relationships with key journalists within our target media.
  • Reporting and measuring the success of our external communications activities to inform our decision-making and strategy – including documenting media coverage, tracking PR metrics and the maintaining PR database.
  • Co-ordinating responses for incoming media enquiries and other queries to help ensure a timely resolution wherever possible.
  • Co-ordinating our content approval and sign off process to ensure conduct risk, compliance and advertising standard policies are followed.
  • Supporting our marketing and internal communications activities as required to ensure our messaging is fully aligned across external and internal channels.
  • Ensure communications are reviewed and approved by individuals who have the appropriate knowledge, skills, and expertise, and that such approval is recorded.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Degree level or equivalent industry experience

Knowledge:

Good working knowledge of current digital communications channels.

Highly proficient using Office 365 applications (particularly PowerPoint, Word and Excel) plus an ability to learn new systems.

Experience:

Communications experience.

Experience of using content management systems to manage and create web content.

Experience of using professional social media platforms and analytics tools.

Experience of working with budgets and invoice management.

 

Skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and confidence to liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

Creatively driven, with excellent attention to detail.

Strong presentation skills: both in terms of producing/editing slide decks and presenting materials to stakeholders at all levels.

Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritise whilst managing several projects simultaneously.

Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks is essential.

A team player willing to get involved in all aspects including associated administration.
