Legal and General’s Asset Management division is seeking a Securities Lending Specialist, responsible for oversight and management of our lending programmes, implementing and developing product strategy, delivering new products, and providing business solutions for the development of Securities Lending within L&G

This role sits within Global Trading & Liquidity Management, a strategic part of our asset management capability, incorporating the following markets facing businesses; global execution, cash management, securities lending and ETF capital markets

What you’ll be doing:

• Providing effective oversight and management of our existing arrangements as a member of the lending team. You'll analyse and evaluate securities lending workflows, processes and systems whilst Identifying areas for improvement and optimal routes to market
• Leading the development of functional specifications and business process design for the implementation of new models
• Driving analysis across multiple stakeholders required to complete specific projects, identify areas of potential risk and provide viable solutions to reduce/eliminate risks
• Managing projects across multiple stakeholders and departments to implement appropriate securities lending solutions
• Reviewing potential trading/market opportunities to provide competitive advantage, incorporating operational and market risk considerations
• Engaging with product providers, internal and external stakeholders during the due diligence process for new products and existing product changes
• Engaging at a securities lending industry level (industry bodies and regulatory authorities) and manage the implementation of regulatory requirements and new products/programmes
• Maintaining a comprehensive and up-to-date product-related documentation, including Securities Lending policies and procedures

Who we’re looking for:

• In-depth knowledge and experience of securities lending products and trading strategies
• Proven track record of successfully advising and leading development projects in a financial institution
• Strong grasp of UK/EU regulatory, legal and tax environment and their implications for the securities lending business
• Understanding of securities lending strategy and risk as part of the broader investment management process

Skills

• Strong business analysis skills being able to use excel and other technology platforms to analyse data sets and input and formulate business cases
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including MS PowerPoint
• Be able to work under pressure, and either independently or as part of a team supporting broader business initiative
