Our Institutional Retirement division provides pension risk transfer (PRT) solutions for UK and US defined benefit (DB) schemes, and reinsurance solutions from our global hub in Bermuda. We work with companies, DB pension schemes and their advisors to help them secure and protect scheme members’ retirement benefits.

We’re currently looking to hire an Investment Analyst to join Legal and General Retirement. As part of You will be part of the Portfolio Management Asset Allocation Group (PMAAG), you’ll be supporting the overall portfolio management, strategic asset allocation and investment solutions to back the Bulk Purchase Annuity (BPA) transactions underwritten by LGIR’s Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) business

What you'll be doing:

• Supporting, constructing and implementing pricing assumptions (pricing portfolios) to back new business transactions (PRT), based on strategic asset allocation
• Supporting and monitoring of overall portfolio positioning (Beta Monitor) and ensuring up to date view of new business pipeline, including time to time involvement in wider portfolio oversight and management activities on public and private credit
• Assisting the team with regular hedging requirements linked to various business needs, including Small Scheme Propositions (SSP) and LGIR’s retail business, to protect the firm from adverse market impacts
• Assisting the team in formulating the Strategic Asset Allocation based on macro and cross asset trends, including research and analysis of different allocation alternatives based on economic viability and insurance metrics (New Business Value, IRR
• Helping integrating new benchmark into hurdle rate calculations and responding to queries from Investment Middle Office (IMO) on week-on-week moves, ensuring that hurdle rates align with LGIR’s long term investment objectives and are produced with high data quality standards
• Supporting Investment Managers in determining the viability of new assets with respect to likelihood of usage within LGIR’s strategic asset allocation and help compile feedback to asset structuring and business development teams. Assist in periodic review of pricing parameters of current product suite, ensuring that LGIR makes best use of available investment opportunities
• Contributing to various internal reporting requirements (New Business MI, Beta Monitor) that inform management on investment performance and forms an integral part in the investment decision making process

Who we're looking for:

• Good knowledge of Fixed Income investments and derivatives and have the ability to develop a good understanding of Liability-driven investing.
• You’ll ideally have A degree in a relevant subject, or equivalent relevant experience
• Demonstrate previous experience as an Investment Analyst from Asset Management or Banking background preferred but not essential
• Demonstrate strong Excel knowledge preferred
• Good communication skills written and verbal and to demonstrate strong stakeholder management skills
• You’ll be driven, motivated with a willingness to learn
