We’re currently looking to hire a Fixed Income Trader to join L&G Asset Management Global Trading and Liquidity Management Team. The role is within the London Fixed Income where you’ll  specialise in the execution of Corporate Bond & CDS trades, as well as general rates products for hedging purposes

This is a full-time office-based role and will require a flexible-working pattern as dictated by business volumes

This is an execution role with a high degree of interaction with portfolio managers and counterparties, so excellent stakeholder & relationship management skills are required

What you’ll be doing:

• Managing and monitoring the execution of Corporate Bonds, CDS, and general rates products in line with client, legal, regulatory, and risk management requirements
• Facilitating primary markets activity, including handling orders and allocations
• Analysing market data to develop trading strategies and optimise counterparty selection, incorporating transaction cost analysis to improve outcomes
• Providing investment teams with up-to-date market commentary, daily feedback where needed, and advice on traded or open positions
• Establishing and developing strong relationships with internal stakeholders and counterparties
• Assisting and collaborating effectively with other members of the Global Trading & Liquidity Management team, including teams in Hong Kong and Chicago
• Partnering with the Trading Research team to analyse, process, and interpret large trading data sets to enhance execution tools and client outcomes
• Contributing to process improvements and joint initiatives with stakeholders to refine efficiency, automate workflows, and add value
• Supporting general and specific technology initiatives, including system upgrades
• Practising L&G cultural values and behaviours

Who we’re looking for:

Qualifications

• Strong academic background; qualifications, or progress towards professional certifications such as CFA/IMC are desirable, but not required
• Relevant Fixed Income trading related experience at a buy-side, or sell-side institution

Skills & Knowledge

• Demonstrable experience in the execution of Corporate Bonds & CDS and good understanding of financial instruments and markets, including knowledge of market structure and the mechanics of the trading process through to settlement
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, proficiency in Python, or other programming languages are desirable, but not required
• Experience in usage of key trading applications, such as OMS and Trading platforms
• Demonstrate robust problem-solving skills and ability to make data driven decisions
