Job Description

Role overview

We are looking for a proven DC Pensions professional to champion LGIM’s DC investment products and expertise within the market, aiding the acquisition of new clients, retention of existing business, strategic proposition direction and PR/marketing content. In particular, leading our interaction with key investment advisers to elevate LGIM’s market position and building close relationships with key internal stakeholders to service clients and provide feedback on product development.

Principal Responsibilities 

  • Acting as a key point of contact for Distribution teams on DC investment and ESG matters, including supporting new business and existing client activity. Including working with Business Development Directors to support their activity with key intermediary accounts and facilitate the further awareness and understanding of the DC investment proposition and roadmap. Including providing key competitor insights and information.
  • Instigating and developing close relationships with key DC investment advisers providing them an understanding of LGIM’s key capabilities, particularly focusing on Private Markets investments, and influencing their ratings/views of LGIM’s DC investment solutions.
  • Supporting the relationship with L&G’s Mastertrust and IGC, driving the investment proposition, working closely with the Head of DC Investments. Supporting the development of DC bundled and unbundled investment solutions, particularly the distribution of our DC investment only platform.
  • Alongside the Head of DC Investments, representing LGIM DC at conferences and industry round tables.
  • Providing feedback from clients and advisers on DC investment trends. Driving DC-specific investment product development with the investment and product teams from a DC Distribution point of view.
  • Maintaining a focused industry and marketplace knowledge, keeping abreast of strategic developments affecting intermediary contacts and their clients, being able to discuss relevant topics in an informed manner. 
  • Guiding, mentoring and encouraging junior members of the DC Investment team, supporting their ongoing development.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience and knowledge of DC product solutions, institutional investments/asset management and marketplace
  • Proven track record in building and maintaining relationships at all levels, both with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Corporate client relationship management experience in a product provider, asset manager or EBC/significant intermediary
  • A detailed understanding of investments including complex bespoke investments
  • Demonstrable communication/presentation skill – previous client facing meeting and presentational experience at a senior level within significant employers and intermediaries/partners is a requirement, as is the ability to articulate and convey information in a clear and compelling manner in writing and in person.
  • Ability to listen to client issues, understanding their challenges and leveraging LGIM DC and the investment management business to address/resolve these issues
  • Professional qualifications in relation to the role are desirable for example CFA, PMI, Certificate in Financial Planning, IMC
