Job Description

The technology business management team are looking to hire a Technology Business Management Platform Owner due to the growth of the newly formed centralised function, which delivers increased financial transparency to executives, IT and finance owners by communicating the cost, quality and value of IT services through data.

This role will see you responsible for the creation and ownership of the strategy and roadmap for the Apptio financial and business management tool. You will manage the end-to-end lifecycle of the tool including management, maintenance and deployment of changes while ensure data feeds are imported accurately and that reports and dashboards are created and enhanced according to customer demand.

 

What you'll be doing:

  • Developing and communicating a clear vision for the Apptio platform to stakeholders across the business which meets Apptio Technology Business Management process, principles, and tooling recommendations.
  • Managing the stability, growth and future enhancement of the platform based on good development practices and ensuring the tool can provide data-led insight into the cost, quality and value of IT services.
  • Delivering consistent ingestion and automation of data feeds, validate content, perform data modelling and be responsive to the needs of IT and Business consumers for the data and insight from the tool.
  • Taking demand for new features and improvements, create and manage prioritised product backlogs by aligning to business drivers, risk appetite and operational issues to ensure that the delivery team has a constant flow of implementable value-enhancing work.
  • Managing the team in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures, including the Partnership Agreement, so that the team’s business objectives are achieved consistently Communicate business goals to the team and focus their efforts on achieving those goals

Qualifications

  • Experience of working in a highly technical environment is essential, with experience of working with public cloud and engineering teams preferable.
  • Good understanding of IT infrastructure technologies and technology architecture. Including shared technology function across multiple business divisions using 3rd parties for IT engineering and support capabilities.
  • Experience of IT services and financial management processes and best practices such as budgeting, cost allocations, capital & operating expense handling, programme portfolio management, and application/infrastructure support.
  • Working experience of data integration with an understanding of data modelling and any practical knowledge of the Apptio platform will be very beneficial.
  • Good understanding of IT infrastructure domains and experience of using backlog management tools such as Jira or TFS.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycles approaches and concepts of continuous integration and continuous delivery and deployment and Experience of Kanban approach to delivery of change.
  • Proven understanding of IT security and governance policies and procedures. And ITIL or Service Management
  • Practical skills using formula in Excel and/or Power BI
  • Good analytical and data analysis skills
