Job Description

We’re recruiting for a Senior Sourcing Manager to join us. We’re offering a competitive base salary, 12% car allowance and strong benefits package.

Our Group Procurement team launched a 3-year transformation strategy in 2023 and secured investment in people and systems to deliver the vision of creating a Procurement Centre of Excellence for Legal and General.

We are embedding category management and innovative sourcing strategies and partnering with stakeholders to become a strategic enabler for the business.

This role is pivotal in leading the execution and negotiation of sourcing activities, ensuring value maximisation and risk management. The ideal candidate will bring thought leadership and drive best practice improvements within the team.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading the development and implementation of best practice, controls and governance
  • Identifying and leading opportunities to drive value and improve performance of the supply base
  • Conducting sourcing activities and negotiations for renewals, incremental purchases and new supplier engagements
  • Ensuring procurement activity and supplier relationships are managed in line with Consumer Duty Accountability
  • Leading sourcing activities to support business change strategies and transform current operations
  • Ensuring all contracting and commitment to spend is governed in accordance with policies and company strategy
  • Applying strategic sourcing principles and procurement best practices
  • Engaging stakeholders and leading matrix teams to achieve sourcing objectives

Qualifications

Who we’re looking for:

  • Professional with MCIPS qualification preferred
  • Proficient in advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and sourcing best practices
  • Strategic mindset with excellent business acumen
  • In-depth knowledge in sourcing, procurement, and supply chain management
  • Strong understanding of contracting principles and associated legal frameworks
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills at executive level
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a changing environment
  • Extensive experience managing complex sourcing activities in the financial services sector
