Index Fund Manager - Bonds

We're looking for an Index Fixed Income Fund Manager to join our successful Index team at Legaland General Investment Management (LGIM) focusing on delivering rules-based solutions designed for our clients

As a fund manager within the Index team you'll be responsible for managing circa 20-25 index funds within a risk controlled framework and supporting those funds, the broader team, and LGIM as we look to service our clients’ needs

What you'll be doing 

• Fully responsible, as lead manager, for a number of index funds which involves taking responsibility for the maintenance, operation and adherence to risk and compliance requirements of the funds
• Acting as deputy manager for a further group of index funds
• Analysing and implementing decisions on index changes and any resulting rebalancing of funds, cash flows and corporate actions
• Analysing portfolios for transfers and transition management
• Producing and delivering investment reports on the funds controlled, including reporting on tracking error and performance attribution
• Working with other Fund Managers to deliver consistency of service and contributing to continuous business process improvement
• Supporting our distribution teams in promoting our index capabilities. Building competence and experience in client servicing through working with client relationship managers (CRMs) and attending client and consultant meetings

• Experienced in the management of index funds or other rules based portfolios
• Experience of managing funds, ideally gained within an asset manager however we will also consider individuals from sell side 
• Proficient in the use of FX and financial derivatives (e.g. futures, forwards)
• Skilled or capable of reading and interpreting index methodologies to inform portfolio management decisions
• Strong understanding of financial markets and corporate events that affect securities within funds being managed
• Knowledge of key financial and statistical metrics used in the evaluation of index fund performance
• A CFA or IMC qualification
• The ability to contribute to the creation of presentation materials to clients
