Company Description

Legal & General (L&G) is a leading UK financial services group and major global investor.

We’ve been safeguarding people’s financial futures since 1836, and strive to build a better society, while improving the lives of our customers and creating value for shareholders.

We are one of the world’s largest asset managers and provide powerful asset origination capabilities. Together, these underpin our retirement and protection solutions: we are an international player in pension risk transfer, in UK and US life insurance, and in UK workplace pensions and retirement income.

Our global asset management business provides our clients and partners with complex, responsible investment solutions, working internationally across public and private markets.

Who we are

We are one of Europe’s largest asset managers and a major global investor across public and private markets.

Asset Management is a critical driver of our Group strategy. The business aims to work synergistically with our Institutional Retirement and Retail divisions to benefit our clients and customers, and deliver enhanced shareholder returns.

Our investment philosophy and processes are focused on creating value over the long term. We believe that incorporating financially material sustainability criteria, when relevant to our clients, can create value and drive positive change.

Job Description

We’re recruiting for a Fund Oversight Analyst to provide operational oversight and support for the valuation activities of Funds outsourced to Third Party Administrators, and to oversee the timely and accurate publication of unit prices across SICAV, UCITS ICAV, QIAIF ICAV, CCF, QIAIF, Liquidity, ETF, CIT and Pooled Funds. This role will also support ongoing diligence over supplier accounting and valuation activities where L&G Asset Management has delegated to a third party.

This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract

What you’ll be doing:

  • Overseeing daily and weekly unit price validation across a broad range of fund structures, performing tolerance checks against benchmarks and comparative data while ensuring accuracy and meeting key deadlines
  • Proactively identifying risks, areas of concern and opportunities for improvement, recommending enhancements to controls and procedures while supporting a robust, risk-based approach to outsourced arrangements
  • Performing key operational oversight controls, ensuring Third Party Administrators receive accurate and timely data to support fund valuations and meet relevant regulatory requirements
  • Building strong relationships with internal teams and external service providers, working closely with Fund Managers, operational teams and other stakeholders to resolve issues quickly and effectively
  • Investigating and analysing breaches and their root causes, communicating findings clearly and recommending improvements to strengthen controls and mitigate ongoing operational risk
  • Challenging Third Party Administrators to drive continuous improvement, monitoring the effectiveness of outsourced services and preparing meaningful oversight reporting for senior committees and directors
  • Completing monthly oversight of investment performance returns, coordinating Fund Manager approvals and ensuring accurate performance data is delivered to relevant internal stakeholders
  • Collaborating across the wider Fund Oversight function, providing cross-functional support and sharing expertise to strengthen operational resilience, enhance processes and deliver consistently high standards

Who we’re looking for:

  • Good knowledge of a range of fund structures, ideally including SICAVs, UCITS ICAVs, QIAIF ICAVs, CCFs, QIAIFs, Liquidity Funds and ETFs, with some familiarity with Unit Trusts, OEICs, ACSs, CITs and Pooled Funds
  • An understanding of fund investments and product oversight, with the ability to provide technical support and guidance where required
  • Good awareness of regulatory standards relating to fund pricing and valuations, within the UK and/or international markets
  • An understanding of fund valuations and the key components that contribute to the valuation process
  • Experience of, or an understanding of, working with third-party suppliers or outsourced service providers
  • Relevant experience within financial services, ideally gained within asset management, investment operations, fund administration or a related environment
  • IOC qualifications would be beneficial, although these are not essential
  • A collaborative and proactive approach, with an interest in developing knowledge across fund oversight, operational risk and investment operations

Whatever your role, we reward performance and behaviour with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you. Here are some of the benefits we offer:

  • The opportunity to participate in our annual, performance -related bonus plan and valuable share schemes
  • Generous pension contribution
  • Life assurance
  • Healthcare Plan (permanent employees only)
  • At least 25 days holiday, plus public holidays, 26 days after 2 years’ service. There’s also the option to buy and sell holiday
  • Competitive family leave
  • Participate in our electric car scheme, which offers employees the option to hire a brand-new electric car through tax efficient salary sacrifice (permanent employees only)
  • There are many discounts we offer – both for our own products and at a range of high street stores and online
  • We’re creating net‑zero carbon workplaces by 2030 by investing in our sustainable, modern offices across the UK, all designed to bring people together and elevate the in‑person experience
