Legal and General Capital are looking for a Data Protection Manager as they build out the chief operations office. This office provides data, technology, change, process and governance expertise and support to the division to facilitate the significant growth planned in line with the strategic plan.
The role will see you responsible for supporting the investment teams and wider divisional business in all aspects of data protection including impact assessment, maintaining record of processing activities and acting as the subject matter expert to drive a culture of improvement and standardisation.
What you’ll be doing
- Ensuring compliance with Data Privacy and Protection Policies and Operating Standards across LGC ensuring appropriate processes are in place to respond to individual rights requests, such as Subject Access Requests (SARs) within regulatory timeframes.
- Identifying and correcting or influencing others to correct gaps in compliance or sub-standard process effectiveness in relation to data protection.
- Ownership of the Data Breach Reporting Process, including conducting root cause analysis on all breaches ensuring all required mitigating actions are completed and ensuring all breaches are reported within mandated timeframes.
- Working with subsidiaries to champion high standards of data protection compliance.
- Support the incident management process across all parts of LGC in relation to potential or actual data protection issues.
- Producing regular MI for Senior Management and reporting via the Governance Structure.
- Representing LGC leadership and staff to the Divisional Data Protection Oversight Manager to facilitate two-way communication around data protection policy compliance and work closely with Senior Management to ensure ongoing compliance.
- An excellent understanding of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
- Experience of Risk Management processes and procedures.
- Practical knowledge of record capture, maintenance, and performance reporting
- Experience of analysing requirements, managing a record of processing activities and facilitation or completion of data impact assessments
