Job Description

Do you have a background in Claims and assessment within insurance or financial services? If you’re passionate about helping others learn and grow, then this may be the role for you!

We are looking to hire a Claims Assessor Training Consultant to join us on a hybrid or remote basis. You will need to travel to our Hove office as required for training purposes.

We’re offering a salary of up to £43,000 depending on experience.

You’ll support the Claims Team in delivering excellent customer service to corporate and intermediary customers by providing a comprehensive quality training and development programme for the Group Protection and IPB claims area.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop, define and deliver a comprehensive training programme and processes to ensure that the quality and competency of colleagues is maintained and ongoing training is provided.
  • Design and deliver training on claims for all product types to new starters and other areas of Group Protection.
  • Provide support on the assessment of Group Protection and IPB claims, checking and approving decision making to accept/reject liability, management plans and authorise payment as per individual authority limits as agreed by the Head of Claims.
  • Define, document, implement and regularly review the process and training manuals for the Claims area.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programmes and ensure that Career Paths are regularly reviewed and updated.
  • Support the Technical & Governance Team in the delivery of training in relation to legislative, regulatory or process changes.
  • Contribute to company and Group Protection wide projects and process reviews to deliver product & proposition development and system design & improvements.
  • Develop, define & deliver processes & systems to ensure that all customer data is dealt with appropriately in accordance with legislation, in particular the Data Protection Act, the Access to Medical Reports Act and Legal & General’s Confidentiality Policy.
  • The Role is not regulated by the FCA, and the jobholder is not an approved person. However, the jobholder will be responsible for ensuring regulatory standards associated with the role are achieved at all times.
  • Requirement to deputise for Training & Development Manager as required.

Qualifications

  • Someone with claims and assessment experience within financial services
  • Someone who loves sharing knowledge with others, someone with natural coaching ability with strong communication skills.
  • Somebody who would like to develop and ultimately thrive in this role.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver training and development programmes.
  • Ability to represent the department at internal/external meetings.
  • Effective organisational skills with the ability to work to targets and deadlines.
