We’re recruiting for a Technical Manager to join us. In this role, you will be a key part of the LGSS Team delivering a market leading professional standards and technical support function supporting LGSS, lenders and surveyors.
You will also assist the Technical Director in being industry facing and supporting the guidance and systems to deliver valuations and surveys and providing technical advice and guidance. The role will support internal and external surveyors and customers in risk mitigation and maintaining our delivery to LGSS and RICS Standards
What you’ll be doing:
- Assisting the Technical Director in internal and external specialist contacts within the survey and valuation arena ensuring a detailed insight and knowledge of current survey and valuation risks, challenges and compliance and legal requirements, to enable informed technical decisions to be made in support of LGSS and its customers
- Being part of the company’s technical resource function, driving innovative technical solutions to meet emerging client needs whilst supporting achievement of lender and panel management contractual commitments along with wider company performance
- Supporting to the highest standard effective communication channels with lender clients and key stakeholders to provide a market leading industry facing technical advice function by providing effective technical communication between Head of Professional Standards, Surveyors and the wider LGSS business, to enable informed technical decisions to be made in support of LGSS and its customers
- Monitoring and interpreting policies and recommending/implementing changes when required to meet business, legislative or regulatory requirements to maintain and improve LGSS Technical proposition
- Supporting the PII and Complaints Team to ensure that colleagues always deliver a market leading customer service proposition
- Supporting the Technical Director with strategic residential survey and valuation industry and regulatory engagement to inform technical advice for LGSS, Lender clients, customers and surveyors as required
- Ensuring effective Quality Checking and Quality Assurance activities are implemented to regularly review the outcomes being delivered to customers and any foreseeable harm is identified
Who we're looking for:
- Fellow, Member or Associate of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors with valuation and survey experience in the residential mortgage market and an RICS Registered Valuer
- In depth knowledge of RICS Red Book requirements including Guidance Notes and Practice Statements as applicable to residential valuations and surveys with a good working knowledge of lenders’ guidance notes and reporting requirements
- Knowledge of the residential survey and valuation industry gained from experience of operating at surveyor level or above. Knowledge of key issues, challenges and new developments facing the surveying industry
- Knowledge of the role and status of LGSS in the residential survey and valuation industry
- Knowledge of LGSS systems, processes and procedures including integration of the business in order to protect the risk profile of the company as a whole
- Evidence of good analytical skills and ability to interpret and evaluate information in an orderly, accurate and timely manner in accordance with challenging client requirements/timescales
- The ability to provide guidance and advice based upon experience and knowledge in the residential surveying industry
- Ability to collate produce, interpret and present risk-based information verbally or in report formats to multiple stakeholder levels in accordance with the requirements of the business
- The ability to communicate clearly with key stakeholders, professional partners, customers and suppliers to ensure that the desired requirements are delivered and that all necessary actions are completed
