Due to exciting transformation, we are pleased to announce an opportunity for a proven Procurement leader, with extensive experience in Supplier Relationship Management and expert stakeholder management skills, to join our Procurement & Supplier Management (GPSM) team as a Supplier Relationship Manager Business Partner.
In this exciting role you’ll be responsible for proactive business partnering with the leadership in allocated business unit(s). You’ll spend time building and maintaining relationships with critical and high value suppliers of the business across IT and non-IT categories to ensure successful delivery of services. You’ll work to ensure smooth operational and commercial performance of identified suppliers in compliance with Legal & General’s policies and procedures that minimise risks and maximise benefits for Legal & General. You’ll also need to apply an understanding of the business requirements in order measure supplier performance, identify operational and commercial constraints and opportunities in existing contracts to drive changes.
This is a fantastic role where you’ll spearhead the teams responsible for managing supplier relationship for suppliers of assigned business unit(s) across IT and non-IT categories, and reports to the Head of SRM. You’ll play a key role in helping us to mature the function as you can influence the direction of policy and the way that we operate. You’ll have lots of autonomy and variety with your day-to-day work, giving you a sense of ownership, and the freedom to be curious and bring new ideas to the table.
What you'll be doing
- Accountable for the overarching implementation of Supplier Relationship Management processes across allocated suppliers. Develop, support, promote and embed the Legal & General Supplier Management strategy and policies that continuously reflect industry best practice, ensuring that Legal & General’s evolving strategic requirements are met. Evolving, communicating, and driving the Supplier Management strategy and proposition across Legal & General for goods and services in order to meet the business objectives within the most appropriate time, quality and cost parameters.
- Establish appropriate benchmarks and standards to underpin the delivery of programmes that are fit for purpose and comply with the overall service standards required by the company, to include compliance with applicable legislative standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure that commercial and operational services received from in-scope suppliers are consistent with other companies, including benchmarking new and existing services to ensure that commercial terms are appropriate and fit for purpose.
- Review contract service performance through the contracted Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and work with both internal and external stakeholders and in-scope service providers to deliver operational efficiencies.
- Lead and implement programmes of change deemed appropriate to embed revisions to terms which will lead to successful supplier and L&G performance and ensure compliance with software licence terms and entitlements.
- Collaborate with cross functional Procurement and SRM teams to lead contract negotiations and renewals for in-scope suppliers as and when necessary.
- Lead discussion with appropriate parties to ensure disputes are resolved with the minimum disruption to the relationship whilst protecting L&Gs commercial interests.
- Drive the team to embrace industry best practice, supporting the development of target operational models to identify and deliver opportunities for improving the supplier management processes and implement any changes to ensure the strategic development and improvement of future similar contracts. Manage, motivate, and develop employees in the team, in a manner that is consistent with the company’s policies, procedures and behaviours.
- Define, develop, and deliver, processes and systems to ensure a consistent and good level of service that means internal customers’ expectations are managed and met, is consistent with what we have communicated and is aligned to L&G’s Customer Experience and Treating Customers Fairly policy.
- Proven commercial leadership experience gained from a supplier/vendor management, supply chain, category management, or business development background
- You’ll be proficient in SRM best practices and strategies.
- You’ll have experience in managing IT / Non-IT Suppliers, preferably in a regulated or financial services environment.
- You’ll need a strategic mind-set, excellent business acumen, and the ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing business needs.
