Our Institutional Retirement division provides pension risk transfer (PRT) solutions for UK and US defined benefit (DB) schemes, and reinsurance solutions from our global hub in Bermuda. We work with companies, DB pension schemes and their advisors to help them secure and protect scheme members’ retirement benefits.

We are looking for a talented Software Engineer to join our highly technical engineering team. The role holder will be responsible for developing and supporting the actuarial reviews for the Institutional Retirement division. A big part of the role will include developing solutions in python, C# and delivering against product roadmap.
What you'll be doing:
- Working closely with the senior software engineers of the team, to define and scope configuration, interfacing and enhancement work withing the different business units.
- Ensuring reviews and requirements are detailed enough to implement solutions right first time, tracking changes to requirements and impact reviews to timings and plans
- Having ownership and driving business reviews, design and build of software changes
- Designing, implementing and deploying interfaces between source systems and calculation engines
- Performing code review to ensure development standards are met
- Ensuring that the principles of Conduct Risk are always rooted into your day to day operations to deliver good customer outcomes.
Who we're looking for:
- Handson experience of software development life cycle (Agile philosophy, Scrum methodology, Continuous Integration and Continues Delivery)
- Working knowledge of modern programming language such as Python and C#, Java, C++, VBA
- Proven usage of relational databases such as Oracle, MS SQL Server (SSMS, SSIS)) or non-relational databases (MongoDB)
- Extensive experience of software or database systems development
- A good understanding of Operating System (OS) principles in Linux and/or Windows
- Experience in source control, issue management software, and continuous integration software
