Job Description

We’re recruiting for a Senior Product Managerto join us. You'll manage the launch, maintenance and development of market leading, compliant Workplace Savings products, propositions and investment solutions.

    What you'll be doing:

    • Managing the oversight and governance of products, propositions, and investment funds available for clients and members of Workplace Savings, ensuring they comply with industry regulations and mitigating any potential operational and legal risks to which Legal & General might be exposed
    • Leading the launch, maintenance, development and closure of products, propositions, and investment funds in accordance with the Product Process and Customer Conduct Risk Policy, ensuring these are designed and developed to meet the needs, characteristics, and objectives of customers in an identified target market to comply with the Consumer Duty
    • Leading the regular review of risks and performance of products and propositions to ensure they continue to meet the needs, characteristics and objectives of the target market and are delivering good customer outcomes
    • Ensuring the Workplace Savings Product team adheres to the Risk Management Framework, by recording and reviewing product related risks in the central risk management system, in partnership with the Operational Risk team and colleagues across the Workplace Savings business
    • Undertaking regular value for money assessments on all products in line with group and divisional standards and escalate any fair value concerns to senior management to enable appropriate action to be taken
    • Interfacing with other internal business areas and external third parties to present, discuss and agree product and proposition plans and initiatives, including the provision of business cases where necessary to justify expenditure
    • Developing close working relationships with colleagues throughout Legal & General, thereby achieving agreed business critical objectives by making extensive use of communication skills, personal expertise and contact network to achieve the required outcome
    • Responding to product, proposition, and investment related queries from internal business units, and participate as necessary in business as usual and product related activities associated with Risk, Group Conduct Monitoring and Internal Audit reviews and recommendations

    Qualifications

    Who we're looking for:

    • Professional qualifications from the Pensions Management Institute (PMI) in relation to Workplace pensions, or investment qualifications are desirable. Alternatively, equivalent experience required
    • Significant experience and knowledge of the Workplace defined contribution market dynamics and regulatory landscape
    • Extensive knowledge of pension products and / or investment solution design and strategy
    • Commercial awareness of the competitive landscape to ensure that products and propositions are well positioned.
    • A good understanding of corporate client needs.
    • Ability to manage conflicting priorities against challenging timescales.
    • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
    • Significant experience within a product or proposition team of a Workplace pension provider, asset manager and/or EBC
    • Experience within a risk led, governance-oriented environment and specifically of product design, build, amend processes and of providing clear and complete documentation and compliance evidence trails
