We’re recruiting for a Senior Finance Manager to join our Group Reporting function. 

The LGAS Reporting team oversees the delivery of Statutory and Regulatory Reporting for the Legal & General Assurance Society legal entity (LGAS), encompassing the consolidation of business divisions. This role entails managing the quarterly and annual IFRS reporting process to guarantee timely and precise delivery in accordance with reporting requirements.

What you'll be doing:

• Managing key reporting deliverables and the consolidation of LGAS for the statutory IFRS reporting on a quarterly and annual basis, along with accurate supporting analysis to Group Finance and other customers (including auditors) in a timely and efficient manner
• Collaborating with key customers to resolve reporting issues involves establishing reporting requirements and deadlines. It is crucial to ensure that reporting meets the agreed standards of accuracy and quality
• Working with Senior Finance Managers within the team to input into the LGAS financial statements in line with best practice and accounting standards. 
• During production reporting, it is crucial to resolve issues, ensure communication with key stakeholders, and properly reconcile and consolidate essential metrics. Significant issues should be escalated in a timely manner
• Taking a proactive approach to identifying process improvement opportunities both within and outside own team’s processes; ensuring ideas are raised, discussed and prioritised in appropriate forums in line with continuous improvement
• Represent the reporting team as directed on key projects. Providing insight on financial reporting processes, supporting decision making, ensuring requirements are considered and included in project plans
• Manage the team in line with the Company's policies and procedures, including adherence to the Partnership Agreement, to ensure the team consistently meets its business objectives
• Ensuring that the appropriate Finance MI, processes and systems are in place to provide support to Group Finance, Prudential Risk, and Group Tax so that customers are treated fairly in line with Legal & General’s Customer Experience and TCF policy

Who we're looking for:

• Qualified Accountant with extensive PQE and experience in a financial services environment, preferably with a life insurer
• Good understanding of existing IFRS requirements and best practice reporting processes. 
• Ability to proactively manage own workload and delegate to team as appropriate.
• Ability to work with others to find pragmatic solutions to process and accounting issues. 
• Ability to develop robust control and reconciliations.
• Proactively questioning and improving the status quo, thinking outside the current framework in order to improve productivity, efficiency and robust controls 
• Ability to motivate staff in order to meet team and individual targets as well as developing the skills and capability of the team.
