Security Assurance Analyst

We have a great opportunity for a Security Assurance Analyst to join us in London, Hove or Cardiff, on a 12 month fixed-term contract!

You’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of assurance activities across all cyber security services delivered by Group IT. This role will be more focussed on activities relating to the protection of data, in particular Data Loss Prevention (DLP) assurance activities.

What you'll be doing:

• Conducting IT security control testing and evidence review (e.g. in the area of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Supplier Assurance), and defining associated improvements to ensure controls outlined in Legal and General’s policies and standards are designed and operating effectively
• Supporting Group IT and business divisions to facilitate planning and execution of the security assurance activities in order to meet a testing schedule and internal audit requirements
• Tracking progress and supporting control owners by providing security guidance to implement remediation actions required to close internal and external audit findings in a timely and effective manner
• Performing data gathering and analysis to develop performance reporting and dashboards to measure IT security effectiveness across the group
• Driving continuous improvement of the Legal & General security assurance framework and schedule, in line with industry good practice and regulatory requirements
• Assisting the Data Security Manager in preparing assurance reports and papers for the Audit Committee and Board to help ensure senior stakeholders have a clear understanding of Legal & General’s key security risks
• Providing specialist security advice and support to IT and business transformation projects by performing security assessments and ensuring that controls and security requirements are being implemented through the project lifecycle
• Engaging with control owners and business division representatives to support awareness of the ongoing security assurance requirements within Legal & General so that each stakeholder group is pro-active in managing these

Who we're looking for:

• A strong understanding of assurance methodologies and testing protocols
• Knowledge of DLP processes and tooling would be great
• You’ll also be used to collaborating with colleagues across all seniority levels
• Strong analytical skills
• Previous experience in Information Security would be a huge plus!
