Across our retail and institutional retirement businesses, we look after more than 1 million customers, around c.700,000 of whom are institutional customers who have had their retirement benefits secured with us. 


Job Description

We’re looking for an Operational Excellence Analyst to join L&G Institutional Retirement and support the growth of a newly created Operational Excellence function.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys making work better, simpler and more effective. You’ll help teams understand how their processes work today, identify where improvements can be made, and support the delivery of initiatives that improve service, strengthen controls and create lasting change.

You’ll bring a continuous improvement mindset, practical delivery experience and the ability to work well with different teams across the business.

    What you'll be doing:

    • Supporting the delivery of operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives across Institutional Retirement
    • Mapping and analysing processes to identify opportunities for improvement
    • Working with operational teams, SMEs and Change Champions to embed continuous improvement behaviours
    • Supporting the delivery of Op Ex and CI training, coaching and capability-building activity
    • Helping to document business requirements, process improvements and recommended changes
    • Managing smaller initiatives and improvement events against agreed objectives, risks and dependencies
    • Using data to support decision-making, track benefits and improve service quality
    • Capturing lessons learned and supporting the closure of completed initiatives

    Who we're looking for:

    • Experience applying continuous improvement, operational excellence, Lean, Six Sigma or similar methodologies
    • Practical experience of process mapping, value stream mapping or business process improvement
    • Experience working with operational teams to deliver measurable improvements
    • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and influence others
    • Comfortable supporting training, coaching or capability-building activity
    • Good analytical skills, with the ability to use data to understand problems and evidence improvements
    • Experience supporting projects, change activity or structured improvement initiatives
    • Knowledge of pensions, financial services, Product, Agile or project management would be a huge plus!
