Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to earn while you learn?

The L&G OneTech Services internship is an 8-week programme, running from June to August.  You’ll rotate through our core technology teams, gaining hands-on experience in IT Security Operations, Digital Web Applications, DevOps, and Cloud Infrastructure. You’ll work on real-world projects, learn from industry experts, and help us build and secure the future of our digital products.

OneTech Services is a department of L&G that specialised in Technology solutions supporting the rest of the organisation.

What you might work on

During your 8-week placement in June and August, you’ll:

• Kick off with an induction to introduce you to L&G and prepare for an exciting internship
• Work directly with several teams in different disciplines to gain insight into varied areas of Technology, including Software Development, DevOps, Cloud & Security.
• Learn from colleagues
• Network with fellow interns and build lasting connections
• Finish with an opportunity to present what you’ve learned to senior Technology leaders.

What you will experience

You will be paired with a buddy who will support you throughout your 8-week placement.  You will spend time working with several different teams and experience day-to-day teamwork, and be asked to solve real problems.

• IT Security Operations (SecOps): Learn the art of defense. You’ll assist with vulnerability scans, help monitor security alerts, and learn how we protect our data and users from emerging threats.
• Digital Web Applications: Get under the hood of our customer-facing products. You’ll work with our application developers to write clean code, squash bugs, and push new features to live environments.
• DevOps: See how code actually gets to the "outside world." You’ll dive into CI/CD pipelines, automation scripts, and learn how we bridge the gap between development and operations to keep things running smoothly.
• Cloud & Infrastructure: Explore the backbone of our tech stack. You’ll assist our Cloud Engineers in managing AWS/Azure/GCP environments, learning about scalability, containers (Docker/K8s), and infrastructure-as-code.

Who we’re looking for

No prior industry experience is required, but we’ll want to see that you have the tools to develop quickly. These include:

• On track for a 2.1 Degree in a Technology-related subject
• In your penultimate of university (i.e. graduating in 2027)
• Analytical mind-set
• Possess an inquisitive mind, and have a genuine desire to learn
• Great communication skills
• High levels of energy and commitment
