Company Description

Legal & General (L&G) is a leading UK financial services group and major global investor.

We’ve been safeguarding people’s financial futures since 1836, and strive to build a better society, while improving the lives of our customers and creating value for shareholders.

We are one of the world’s largest asset managers and provide powerful asset origination capabilities. Together, these underpin our retirement and protection solutions: we are an international player in pension risk transfer, in UK and US life insurance, and in UK workplace pensions and retirement income.

Our global asset management business provides our clients and partners with complex, responsible investment solutions, working internationally across public and private markets.

Joining us means helping to improve the lives of our customers and contributing to the success of the business every day.

Job Description

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to earn while you learn?

The L&G Marketing internship is an 8-week programme, running from June to August. During this time, you’ll have the chance to develop your skills, gain valuable insights, and get hands-on work experience.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Shadowing and collaborating with the senior team by liaising with our subsidiary businesses and stakeholders to ensure our communications align with Legal & General’s broader messaging and corporate objectives
  • Supporting the execution of external communications strategies by drafting press releases and reviewing measurement
  • Helping to create written materials such as press releases, award submissions, case studies, speeches, and presentations
  • Monitoring forward features and the news agenda across key publications.
  • Supporting brand strategy, positioning, messaging, and design
  • Assisting with an events programme that includes in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, such as press events and industry conferences
  • Working with our internal communications team to support proactive and two-way communications across the business through various channels including email, video, town halls, and other events
  • Providing administrative support and working closely with our Marketing and Communications teams to ensure all activities are aligned and maximised across multiple channels, including proactive and reactive social media

You will also need to have your own valid right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

We’re seeking penultimate-year undergraduates with an inquisitive mind and a desire to learn. No prior industry experience is required, but we’ll want to see that you have the tools to develop quickly. These include:

  • On track for a 2:1 degree (any discipline; however, a degree in marketing or a related field would be advantageous)
  • Penultimate year of university (i.e. graduating in 2027)
  • Desirable: Additional language skills, particularly Italian, German, or French
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Analytical mind-set
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise effectively; you are someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible and a team-player
  • Curiosity and an eagerness to learn
  • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Passion for the news and the written word, with a creative approach to delivering concise and responsive communications in line with the company’s strategy

    Additional Information

Whatever your role, we reward ability, performance and attitude with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you. Your hard work will be rewarded when you join us.

At L&G, we believe it's possible to generate positive returns today while helping to build a better future for all.

If you join us, you’ll be part of a welcoming, inclusive culture, with opportunities to collaborate with people of diverse backgrounds, views, and experiences. Guided by leaders with integrity who care about your future and wellbeing. Empowered through initiatives which support people to develop their careers and excel.

We care passionately about outcomes rather than attendance and are therefore open to discussing all kinds of flexible working options including part-time, term-time and job shares. Although some roles have limited flexibility due to customer demand, we accommodate requests when we can.

It doesn’t matter if you don’t meet every single criterion in this advert. Instead, think about what you excel at and what else you can bring in terms of strengths, potential and connection to our purpose.

Great news! We will let you know when a new job like this has been added!
