Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to earn while you learn?
The L&G Data Governance internship is an 8-week programme, running from June to August. During this time, you’ll have the chance to develop your skills, gain valuable insights, and get hands-on work experience.
The Data Governance team are responsible for establishing and maintaining the Data Management framework, standards and controls that ensure Legal & General’s data is accurate, trusted, secure and used responsibly across the organisation. They also govern GDPR compliance across Group CTO function.

Their work underpins product development, customer outcomes and strategic initiatives helping to protect customers, support innovation and ensure data is treated as a valuable enterprise asset.
You’ll receive support every step of the way from your line manager. As part of an intern cohort, you’ll also connect with peers through networking opportunities and social events.
What you will be doing:
- Build practical skills in data governance, teamwork and communication while gaining insight into how a large financial services organisation works.
- Help the Data Governance team to keep records information clear, accurate and up to date by supporting simple data checks and documentation of records management processes.
- Learn how data is used across the business by helping review key data elements and data privacy impact assessments.
- Work with colleagues from different teams to understand how good data supports fast paced decision‑making in technology and cybersecurity.
- Assist with updating guides, processes and records so information is easy to find and understand.
We recruit on a rolling basis and expect this vacancy to close before the deadline. To be in with the best chance of securing a role, please submit your application ASAP.

- On Track for 2.1 Degree in a STEM subject
- Curiosity and a strong desire to learn
- An analytical mindset with problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with great attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A flexible, collaborative team player
You will also need to have your own valid right to work in the UK.
