Company Description

Established in 2023, Singapore is our newest office in the Asia-Pacific region for L&G’s global Asset Management division and is our investments and ESG regional hub. Our people in Singapore work across a broad spectrum of investments, credit research, sales and relationship management, risk, compliance and ESG roles, and across both the institutional and wholesale client segments.

Asia is a hugely important geographical region for L&G’s asset management business and our Singapore office (alongside our office in Hong Kong, which opened in 2012) is key in achieving our growth ambitions.

We are part of the Legal & General group (L&G), which was established in the UK in 1836 and now operates globally with over 12,000 employees across the UK, United States, Europe and Asia-Pacific. L&G is a major global investor across public and private markets, with USD 1.4 trillion in assets under management. We have deep expertise in asset management and origination with global capabilities to deliver investment solutions for our clients, which include individual savers, pension scheme members and global institutions, investing alongside L&G’s own balance sheet.

L&G has market-leading capabilities across the full spectrum of asset classes, ranging from index-tracking and active funds to liquidity and liability-based risk management strategies. Through our private markets’ platform, we offer access to a wide range of alternative investment opportunities, including specialist real estate, clean energy, infrastructure, venture capital, and private credit. We have an enduring commitment to responsible investment, dedicated to creating long-term, sustainable value for our clients and partners.

Job Description

Are you looking for a summer internship in Asset Management? Are you ready to gain experience across asset management specialisms in a dynamic and innovative Financial Services’ environment? We’re looking for an enthusiastic and talented individual to join our Asia asset management business in our Singapore team in the summer.

What you might work on

We’re excited to share our knowledge with the next generation of professionals.  Are you looking for a place on our new Singapore summer internship programme, developing your commercial acumen alongside your technical skills as you gain experience across the regional asset management specialisms?

We’re looking for undergraduates who can answer “yes” to the above. Starting in June 2026, the successful applicants will join us for a 10-week programme.

What You’ll Do:

As a summer intern, you’ll have the opportunity over the 10-week programme to:

  • Work on projects that drive our business activities and growth strategy.
  • Collaborate with experienced professionals and gaining first hard experience.
  • Develop your skills in asset management.
  • Gain insights into the industry; learning about investments and how clients invest.

Please note we only accept one application per recruitment cycle for our internship roles so please consider all placement positions before applying, as your first application will be considered your only application.

Qualifications

We’re looking for people in either their first, second or third year university with an inquisitive mind and a desire to learn. We’re not expecting prior industry experience, but we’ll want to see that you have the tools to develop quickly. These include:

  • Strong academic record to date and on track for an Honours with distinction or Honours with highest distinction degree.
  • Curious, motivated and have a desire to learn more about Asset Management
  • Analytical mind-set and ability to undertake deep research into diverse topics
  • Great communication skills
  • Flexible and a team-player
  • High levels of energy, dynamism and commitment
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise effectively

Additional Information

As part of our online testing and video interview process your personal information (name and email) will be shared with our testing provider. They will only use your data for the purposes of testing. If you have any questions about this then please email futuretalentrecruitment@landg.com.

Whatever your role, we reward ability, performance and attitude with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you. Your hard work will be rewarded when you join us.

At L&G, we believe it's possible to generate positive returns today while helping to build a better future for all.

If you join us, you’ll be part of a welcoming, inclusive culture, with opportunities to collaborate with people of diverse backgrounds, views, and experiences. Guided by leaders with integrity who care about your future and wellbeing. Empowered through initiatives which support people to develop their careers and excel.

We care passionately about outcomes rather than attendance and are therefore open to discussing all kinds of flexible working options including part-time, term-time and job shares. Although some roles have limited flexibility due to customer demand, we accommodate requests when we can.

It doesn’t matter if you don’t meet every single criterion in this advert. Instead, think about what you excel at and what else you can bring in terms of strengths, potential and connection to our purpose.

Great news! We will let you know when a new job like this has been added!
