We’re currently looking to hire an Index Investment Specialist focusing on Equities within L&G Asset Management Index team

The Index Investment Specialist - Equity, with a dotted reporting line to the Head of Index Equities, will engage deeply with the Equity Index portfolio management team, demonstrating a clear understanding of the investment processes and, critically, an ability to articulate L&G Asset Management Index’s unique proposition to clients and potential investors

The Investment Specialist will become a subject matter expert in all areas related to Index Equities at L&G Asset Management spanning strategy design, index equity portfolio management, and L&G Asset Management’s active ownership capabilities

The Index team at L&G Asset Management is focused on delivering systematic solutions designed for our clients. As an Investment Specialist focusing on equities within the index team you will be responsible for helping to drive the growth and continued success of the Index business by working closely with the equity index portfolio managers, L&G Asset Management Distribution, and other teams to ensure our Institutional mandate clients receive the highest possible level of service and support, as well as to win new business. This will include the ability to respond to evolving investor requirements and the increasing

What you'll be doing:

• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the current investment market and economic developments from an Index Equity perspective
• Developing a strong working relationship with the Distribution team across geographies and client channels. Act as the go-to for institutional client queries on index equity mandates and bespoke solutions
• Presenting and representing L&G Asset Management Index in client meetings and industry events, highlighting L&G Asset Management’s unique and value-add approach to equity index management and solutions
• Work closely with the equity index portfolio management team to enhance your knowledge of L&G Asset Management’s portfolio management philosophy & techniques, across the range of strategies being managed
• Work closely with the equity index portfolio management team to support the development of client specific proposals and reviews, including the production of presentation material
• Support  the Index business with technical enquiries and communication of complex analysis and sophisticated ideas in a concise and understandable fashion, both in writing and in person to our stakeholders which range in sophistication. Represent Portfolio Managers in client meetings as required
• Create standard presentation slides and content to support client meetings and new business opportunities
• Lead in authoring thought leadership papers & marketing materials, such as blogs, to support the promotion of Index Equity capabilities

Who we're looking for:

• Proven track record working in investment management, preferably in a product specialist front office role with knowledge of financial markets, investment management and investment processes (with particular focus on equities)
• An understanding of institutional client product trends and competitor landscape
• Understanding of investment management techniques and processes, in an Index Management context.
• Highly organised and strong prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple deliverables under time pressure and with accuracy
• A strong intellect with sufficient technical and investment knowledge to be able to win the confidence of stakeholders
• Excellent attention to detail and an inquisitive mind to challenge things that don’t look right
• Strong academic background with post graduate qualifications preferred but not essential
• A degree in Economics or Finance and /or CFA are desirable
• Knowledge of another European language (i.e. French, Spanish or Italian) is desirable
