We have a fantastic opportunity to join Legal & General as an Asset Valuation & Modelling Manager.

This role would be ideal for someone with strong experience in Asset Modelling and Data Analysis and will provide a holistic understanding of how an insurance company such as L&G works from an asset portfolio perspective.

This role will provide you with high visibility and exposure across the L&G Group and you will use your experience of asset modelling to help analyse and validate the results produced within Risk Analytics and communicate these to relevant stakeholders across the Business.

Reporting to the Head of Pricing - Valuation & Validation, this role assumes the responsibility of producing the "Analysis and Validation" Reports supporting the financial results produced by the wider Risk Analytics team. Primarily focussing on the Solvency II and Economic Capital calculations, this role will also support the other team members in producing the analysis and validation of key Risk Management and MI metrics when required.

• CFA/FRM or CFQ or Qualified/Nearly Qualified Actuary or Master’s Degree in Science, Finance, Math, Economics or related discipline.
• Exposure to asset pricing and modelling with an understanding of the capital impact of asset stresses on life insurance businesses.
• Exposure to Solvency II requirements, including Matching Adjustment knowledge or Basel III capital requirements.
• Solid understanding of Excel and VBA (as a minimum) but preferably with a strong understanding of data technologies such as R, Python SQL, PowerBI etc. 
• Knowledge of a wide range of asset classes including; fixed income, inflation-linked, floating rate notes, credit, equities, property and derivatives (Swaps, Futures, Options, Swaptions).
• Experience of financial reporting processes and metrics employed in insurance or the banking industry such as: Economic Capital, Solvency II, ALM, PnL attribution, DV01, VaR, WARF.
• Experience in 1st or 2nd line risk-management functions within insurance or banking sector would be highly advantageous.
• General knowledge of equity-release/life-time mortgage products would be highly advantageous.
• General knowledge of market and credit risk models would be highly advantageous.

• Competitive Salary ranging from circa £60,000 - circa £90,000 (depending on experience)
