Job Description

The Transformation Director is part of our Legal & General Retirements and Institutional division. In this role, you will help shape, lead, and deliver the transformation objectives of the division. The Transformation Director, LGRI will partner the Strategy and Implementation Director to implement business, operational and technology strategy, evolve organisational capabilities, develop partnerships that enable LGRI’s growth ambitions and safeguarding divisional security as well as customer experience.

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • To deliver a complex and challenging portfolio of transformation activities across LGRI, shaping and designing customer outcomes through thought leadership, innovation, energy, direction, and a relentless focus on delivery.  
  • Direct the work and outcomes of multiple delivery teams within the Transformation team, ensuring that the work remains within financial governance, and ensure the team works with business sponsors to identify and realise the financial and non-financial benefits of the portfolio. Drive cost rigour, and actively challenge work that does not add value, while addressing and exceeding LGRI Transformation’s customers’ needs at every opportunity.

  • Build effective and valued business across the LGRI management team, including relationship management within LGRI Exco, Group Exco members and senior leaders around the Group,  that enable the right business outcomes and transformation priorities by planning and leading the Business Partnering internal management team and all associated governance.

  • Direct a team of transformation professionals across varying team structures. Act as a role model and thought leader and develop talent and capabilities to support a development path for team members, while supporting the transformation of methods and methodologies on an ongoing basis.

  • Ensure that all project and departmental risks are identified, monitored and mitigated and are appropriately reflected in risk returns.

  • Develop and own an appropriate talent management and development strategy for IT & Transformation people to realise the full potential of our people. Ensure we have a resourcing strategy that drives when we use third parties and contractors.

  • Ensure that the principles of Conduct Risk are embedded into your day to day operations to deliver good customer outcomes at all times. Ensure that all business processes and internal controls within your role are designed and performed in a way that delivers good customer outcomes and demonstrates effective management of Conduct Risk.

  • To take lead in matters with regard to the management of employees, ensuring the management discretion is used in a consistent manner and that the area follows the Group’s policies and procedures including the Partnership Agreement to maximise the business performance.


Qualifications

Our requirements are: 

  • You must be able to demonstrate you have experience having preformed a similar position or equivalent seniority as an executive leader. 
  • Coming from a Change/Transformation management discipline with track record of delivery of cultural change and transformation expertise.

  • Being able to lead complex planning & decision making processes.

  • Be a strategic thinker, innovative, and a strategy developer who can execute in a complex functional matrixed organisation. 

  • You will need to be product and technology savvy with an aptitude to bridge the gap between business and IT to deliver pragmatic, cost effective solutions.

  • Have a proven background in adapting to trends and openness to new ideas.

  • Can develop organisational capability, such as people, processes, technology, knowledge.

  • You'll need have exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail, and can  demonstrated the ability to work independently, lead multiple projects, ruthlessly prioritise, and manage a high-volume of tasks, deadlines, requirements, and decisions

  • Be collaborative, and freely shares knowledge and experience. 

  • Have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully engage and influence a broad range of individuals across various internal and external businesses and support functions

  • Strong influencing skills are a must, and the ability to develop and mentor individuals

  • Being educated to a degree standard is desirable but not mandatory.

  • Having a Prince 2 Qualification or PROSCI/Agile & Scrum qualification is also desirable but not mandatory.
