Senior Finance Analyst

We are hiring a Senior Finance Analyst to join our busy Finance team in Cardiff.  As part of the team, you'll play a key part in managing finance operational processes and provide support to business partners.

What you'll be doing

• The preparation and posting of expense accruals and journals for centralised LGIM expenses and liaising with other members of LGIM’s Finance team to ensure that the journals are booked on a timely basis.
• To continually review and amend existing reporting processes and outputs to optimise the effectiveness and efficiency of reporting.
• To monitor and update headcount to ensure an up to date cost centre and headcount structure on Group Accounting and HR systems. To include reconciling to HR systems and reporting.
• To manage the provision of timely, accurate and informative management reporting to internal customers and stakeholders relating to headcount and employee costs, providing insight around emerging trends to facilitate optimal business performance.
• To make payments for LGIM subsidiaries, preparation of related journals and the maintenance of payment logs. 
• To provide detailed expense analysis to include insight into monthly variances.
• Assist in the provision of responses to queries from stakeholders across the L&G Group, ensuring they are delivered in accordance with the requested specifications and deadlines
• To ensure that procedure manuals are kept up to date and accurately reflect current processes.
• To provide ongoing support for the Finance Managers

• AAT or part qualified accountant
• Good understanding of accounting processes and principles
• Good excel and IT skills
• Experience in working with accounting systems desirable
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to write clear reports and documents
• A good team player
• Must be delivery focused and demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines and demonstrate high attention to detail, with high levels of resilience
• Preferably some experience of working within a UK financial services organisation
