We have a highly synergistic business model, which continues to drive strong returns. We are a leading international player in Institutional Retirement, in Retail Savings and Protection, and in both public and private markets through our Asset Management division. Across the Group, we are committed to responsible investing and dedicated to serving the long-term savings and investment needs of customers and society.

Joining us means helping to improve the lives of our customers and contributing to the success of the business every day.
We’re recruiting for a Senior Communications Manager to join Legal & General’s Corporate Affairs function, which brings together our Group external communications, employee communications, brand, sustainability, social media and public affairs teams.
Reporting to the Group Head of Media and Issues, the Senior Communications Manager will support the development and delivery of our media relations and issues management strategy, working alongside group and divisional colleagues to nurture our media relationships, build our reputation and proactively manage emerging issues.
What you'll be doing:

- Working closely with senior leaders to develop and deliver communications plans, including the delivery of our senior leader profile strategy, group thought leadership campaigns and research programmes - positioning L&G effectively in debates that matter to our customers, clients, and employees, and supporting business goals
- Partnering with Brand, Employee Communications, Sustainability, and other Group functional colleagues to build media and communications programmes that support their goals, including identifying opportunities to deliver our Corporate Affairs strategy, and opportunities to tell a unified story across our business
- Identifying and supporting external platform opportunities, developing briefings, speaking notes, and drafting articles on behalf of senior leaders
- Driving continuous improvement of Group wide processes, measurement and evaluation and information sharing to strengthen cross divisional planning, collaboration, and strong internal and external relationships
- Consumer Duty - Ensuring communications are clear, fair, and not misleading and are fully compliant with any rules and guidance issued by the relevant regulators, including relevant data protection legislation
Who we're looking for:
- Understanding of L&G strategy and direction
- Experience in professional services, financial or corporate communications function – either in an in-house or agency capacity and awareness and understanding of key debates impacting L&G’s business and the wider macro environment
- Understanding of evolving media landscape, breadth and depth of media relationships
- Ability to work autonomously, but naturally inclined to seek input and perspective from a wide range of stakeholders
- Strong writing and storytelling skills
- Public affairs / policy awareness
- Previous experience working in complex regulated organisations, ideally in FS
- Media relations and issues management
- Ability to interact with individuals across the organisation and external partners and prioritise varied workload
- Uses creativity and fresh thinking to continually improve our media engagement strategies
- Responsive and delivery-focused – able to turn around quality work swiftly and get things done and resilient to changing needs and evolving plans
- International experience desirable
