To work in a portfolio-based team environment effectively and productively, providing unrivalled service to new and existing customers that, in turn, will drive the achievement of team shared financial targets around portfolio and business growth. This is a Hove hybrid position.
What you will be doing:
- Profitably and accurately assess risk, set price and apply appropriate terms in keeping with Group Protections Scheme Underwriting guidelines and philosophy; work with colleagues to do this right first time.
- Ensure work is completed within the timeframes allocated, and if not, then appropriate communication is given to the line manager, and if required, the broker / customer concerned.
- To build strong customer relationships that will assist in the delivery of financial targets, particularly the acquisition and retention of profitable business.
- Demonstrate strong leadership and ownership to ensure you and your team colleagues contribute to collective business goals and objectives across Group Protection
- Take ownership of your personal development by pro-actively seeking to learn new skills. Work closely with your team manager, to meet your agreed personal development plan. In addition to maintaining level of quality required in all existing signoffs.
- Take a wider interest in the Group Protection business including any new products/features, other team and department developments and results. Take ownership of reading and following guidelines as stated in formal communications.
- Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) ensure customers are provided with relevant information at appropriate times to enable them to effectively manage policies.
- Organise and manage the provision of service to give sufficient priority and opportunity to customers wishing to change products, switch provider, submit a claim or make a complaint.
- Ensure the correct application of regulations and legislation, as set by Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC).
- CII Group Risk Exam
- Experience underwriting group protection products
- Relevant understanding of products, regulation, and Group Protection processes at a Competent level
- Confident with Customers: Able to handle direct customer contact effectively on a range of subjects both written and oral
- Good with technology: Must be comfortable with the use of computer-based systems including Microsoft Office
- Comfortable with change: Able to remain motivated within a fast-changing growing business
- Highly proficient in Excel and the manipulation of data
