Role Overview
This is a development field sales role responsible for driving Wholesale business growth for third party clients on a 12 month maternity cover contract.
Working with the Head of Strategic partnerships (Wholesale), as well as owning your own portfolio of clients, you will achieve aspirational performance targets by identifying opportunities for Wholesale products and services through both new and existing business partnerships.
Provide exceptional levels of client management service support for our key partners and the Head of Strategic Partnerships. There will be an emphasis on day to day support of strategically important clients including National and network advisers groups, Platforms. Ratings & Research Houses and Sub advisory retail mandates. This role will involve travel to all parts of the UK as well as time in London for key client activity and planning. You will also host client meetings as part of your role.
Responsibilities
- Strategy: Working with the Head of Strategic Partnerships (Wholesale) to define a strategy that enables you to meet/exceed sales performance targets, delivering revenue by compliant product distribution and cross-selling opportunities. Executing a proactive contact strategy for partnership arrangements. Supporting fund selection and opportunities whilst developing new relationships with existing and new partner firms.
- Client Relationship: Building and managing relationships with existing Strategic Partnership arrangements to achieve business targets, whilst also researching and identifying areas to enhance and grow those relationships. Supporting the strategy and activity of the Head of Strategic Partnerships as well as your own portfolio of accounts. Hosting key partner meetings for own accounts and wider accounts owned by The Head of Strategic Partnerships.
- Communication and Collaboration: Collaborating with other departments including Key Account Managers, Regional Account Managers, Wealth team, Marketing and Operations when delivering new opportunities to ensuring smooth implementation of initiatives and infrastructure. Working with the fund management teams and product development on new product initiatives for partnership accounts. As well as building and supporting the delivery of client presentations.
- Knowledge: Maintaining high level knowledge of LGIM’s unit trust, SICAV, ICAV, ETF ranges and the investment philosophy and process, being able to communicate this to clients.
- Technical and Industry Expertise: Developing and maintaining a strong understanding of competitors and market trends. Using knowledge to identify business opportunities in collaboration with the Head of Strategic Partnerships and incorporating your views and thoughts into strategic plans.
- Service: Providing a high quality client support to clients, dealing with complex, technical queries. Understanding client needs and ensuring that you co-ordinate internal activity in a way that meets client expectations and objectives. Working with the sales support teams to establish the appropriate levels of service with each client to ensure that both technical and value add service is delivered
- Regulation and TCF: Keeping informed of regulatory changes that will impact your business area and client decision making. Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) ensures all activity is in accordance with the Group’s requirements and regulatory duties, including that customers are treated fairly in line with L&G’s Customer Experience and TCF Policy.
- Risk Mappers: Working with the wider team to conduct due diligence on risk mapping methodologies and to develop and implement contact strategy and account management plans.
- IMC qualified or equivalent relevant qualifications preferred
- Proven ability to engage with clients and successfully manage relationships
- Ability to contribute towards strategy discussions and to execute strategic plans
- A high level of understanding of processes, policies and key relationships. Ability to improve processes.
- Good working knowledge of intermediaries and Wealth clients and their business drivers. Have a client understanding of competitors and market dynamics
- Good knowledge of the wider financial industry
- Excellent customer service skills, able to manage complex customer enquiries and related issues.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence at client level
- Strong investment knowledge and a clear understanding of LGIMs broad product range.
- Proven experience working with Strategic clients in Wholesale Asset Management
- Ability to engage confidently and purposefully with senior stakeholders
