We’re recruiting for a Claims Technical Training Specialist to join us. We’re offering a base salary up to £45,000 dependant on experience, this role also comes with flexible working hours between 8am-6pm, Monday - Friday.
This role involves designing and delivering training solutions to ensure high-quality claims assessment and management, while promoting a culture of learning and personal development. It is responsible for providing support through case checking, feedback, and training sessions for new and existing claims assessors as well as making decisions on complex claims cases.
What you'll be doing:
- To be fully competent in all key responsibilities of a Claims Assessor, including Death, Critical Illness Cover, Terminal Illness Cover, Permanent and Total Disability, and Income Protection
- To have detailed knowledge of L&G claims philosophy and processes by supporting the Claims Development Manager and team as required to identify future philosophy, product and regulatory changes that will result in a new training needs and any improvements required through customer feedback
- Identify, plan and develop solutions based on recruitment, general training needs, and individual assessor development plans. Ensuring all materials comply with L&G standards and are updated as needed
- Deliver training solutions tailored to the audience to enhance understanding, retention, and performance, while measuring training effectiveness and implementing remedial actions when trainees or claims assessors do not meet standards
- Provide support and guidance on complex cases while considering the bigger picture in terms of L&G’s reputation and Conduct issues as well as being able to make decisions in line with the claims risk appetite
- Must be able to develop and maintain strong relationships with the Claims Development Team, Claims Managers/Assessors, DFC/GFC, Underwriting, Legal, Conduct, Reinsurers, and others to address any claims-related issues
- Design and implement appropriate training regimes that give sufficient emphasis to the need for customers to understand that fair treatment and delivering good outcomes to them is central to the corporate culture
Who we're looking for:
- An extensive understanding of medical conditions for the assessment of Death and Health Claims, as well as misrepresentation and appropriate remedies.
- A high-level understanding of strategic goals and business objectives for Insurance Customer Service to enable development of bespoke solutions to the claims area
- Ability to take decisions to support the claims department and stand in for the Claims Technical Training Delivery Manager
- Proactively establish and maintain good cross-functional working relationships with Claims Development Team, Operational Claims Management/Assessors and Underwriters.
- Experience of analysing results and trends, and to be able to clearly share the insights from your data findings
- Actively seeks opportunities to apply new approaches and methodologies that will have a beneficial impact on the quality of outcomes
- Develop and deliver advanced learning and delivery techniques for materials, workshops and pre and post course work evaluation.
- Awareness of the needs of others and taking the opportunity to lead activities and discussions while included others and valuing their opinions. Sharing tasks and asking for help when needed.
