We have an exciting new opportunity here at Legal & General, where we are currently looking for Release Train Engineer to join one of the largest strategic programmes in the business. Sequoia is a 4-year programme that is being delivered in an Agile delivery framework and will deliver significant changes to modernise the core system and also transform the user experience for our operational colleagues, providing the latest technology and automated processes.
The role of the Release Train Engineer: a servant leader who facilitates Agile Release Train level processes and execution, is responsible for implementing ways of working, drives continuous development, manages risks and escalates impediments to ensure goals and objectives of the Product Managers and Owner are achieved.
What you'll be doing
- Leading the creation ART ways of working, operating model, governance, resourcing strategy and dependency/risks/issue management to support the ART and teams to deliver against the overall vision, objectives, and plans.
- Managing the creation of high performing cross functional teams to maximise ART and team delivery efficiency and successful delivery of products/capabilities as per CPO/PM/PO backlogs, by utilising delivery metrics, ART-wide retrospectives and research into new change / delivery tools, to provide insight and drive improvements.
- Establishing and maintaining the ART’s ways of working, delivery standards and deployment process into the organisation effectively, achieving a consistent, resilient, and reliable service for the products and capabilities it builds and supports post change.
- Implementing and managing effective ceremonies, coaching and communication channels/processes with ART Scrum Masters to support and manage the delivery of the ART, aimed at resolving conflicts of interest, efficient decision making and effectively managing cross-team and outside of ART dependencies.
- Coaching and supporting the Product Management/Product Owner community in aligning and defining on longer-term roadmaps, by facilitating Product Management and ART Syncs (when required), supporting the facilitation of Senior Governance Forums, lead on management stakeholder relationship across the business and effectively track/realise benefits of the work delivered.
- Taking overall accountability for Strategic alignment/organisational readiness, leadership and team preparedness, and all logistics related to Planning Interval events, including being the main facilitator across the events ensuring best practices are adhered to, whilst relentlessly improving it through regular feedback/retrospectives.
