Your role at a glance
Are you looking for a summer internship in Investment? One that develops commercial acumen alongside your technical skills?
We’re looking for undergraduates who can answer “yes” to the above for our 2024 Legal and General Investment Summer Internship scheme. If you’re successful, you’ll join one of Legal & General’s well-regarded Investment teams, which plays a pivotal role in our continued success.
Starting 1st July, your internship will last for 8 weeks. This programme is a pipeline for our Graduate Programme (although successful completion of the Summer Programme does not guarantee that a graduate role is available).
Please note, we can only accept 1 application per person across all of our intern programmes. Therefore, please think carefully about the programme you intend to apply for. Your first application will be considered as your only application.

Job Description
You will be assigned to one of our investment teams for your 8-week placement which runs throughout July and August. You will also take part in an induction week designed to introduce you to L&G and help prepare you for the remainder of the internship. Over the course of the internship, you will have the chance to interact with different teams, hear from senior speakers and network with your fellow interns. Some of the day-to-day activities you may experience might include:
- Performing research and due diligence tasks to support decision making
- Collating information for reporting
- Preparing PowerPoint presentations for meetings
- Liaising with key stakeholders and improving team processes with fresh perspectives and ideas
- Most importantly you will be learning new skills and gaining knowledge of how our business works!
Qualifications
First and foremost, we are looking for people who embody our behaviours:

- Purposeful – working with pace and energy
We’re not expecting prior industry experience, but we’ll want to see that you have the tools to develop quickly. These include:
- On track for a 2.1 Degree in any subject – we are open to all subject backgrounds
- In your penultimate of University (i.e. graduating in 2025)
- B in A Level Maths
- Curious, motivated and have a desire to learn more about a career in Investment Management!
- Analytical mind-set
- Great communication skills
- Flexible and a team-player
- High levels of energy, dynamism and commitment
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise effectively
The role will be based in London and will involve a flexible working approach whereby you split your time between working from home and the office.
