Job Description

We’re recruiting for an Internal Communications Manager to join us. You will be responsible for owning designated senior stakeholder relationships, shaping and delivering the associated internal communications strategies to support their respective business areas in line with our divisional and team strategic objectives. You will also support across planning and execution of communications activity relating to change initiatives, corporate strategy implementation and culture programmes.

What you'll be doing:

  • Owning and delivering internal communications strategies for designated senior stakeholders and teams within the division, in line with our wider L&G, Asset Management and Private Markets internal communications approaches and in service to delivering our company-wide and divisional strategic objectives
  • Planning, drafting, and producing creative and accessible content for key audiences including emails, newsletters, the intranet (Hub), news stories, MS Teams updates and multimedia content (e.g. videos)
  • Working closely with the Head of Internal Communications to support the development, embedding and delivery of the Private Markets Internal Communications strategy (as part of the wider Asset Management divisional approach), contributing best practice insights and experience to help us deliver sustainable and scalable internal communications support for our business
  • Supporting the evolution of the Private Markets team’s culture and community through delivery of strategic communications, campaigns and events, including Townhalls, milestone events and other bespoke touchpoints throughout the calendar year
  • Raising visibility of Private Markets’ value, capabilities and opportunities across both the Asset Management division and the wider L&G Group through coordinated and collaborative communications interventions; representing Private Markets as part of the wider L&G internal communications network
  • Delivering a collaborative joined up approach to all communications efforts as part of both Asset Management and Private Markets communications and marketing efforts, supporting our wider functional objectives and ensuring alignment between internal and external messaging and activities
  • Using experience, data and feedback to deliver measurable best in class internal communications activities across an intentional channel matrix to support our strategic objectives, adapting approach as needed to maximise effectiveness
  • Supporting the growth and development of junior team members through collaboration and feedback ‘on the job’ (no direct reports/line manager responsibilities)

Qualifications

Who we're looking for:

  • Understanding of the role strategic internal communications and employee engagement play in creating a great place to work
  • Ability to plan and execute change communications initiatives
  • Creative and proactive in generating innovative and engaging content
  • Collaborative and enthusiastic individual with the ability to develop and maintain good relationships with key stakeholders as well as external suppliers
  • Interest in and awareness of sustainability and purpose-led investing
  • Sector experience across Private Markets’s core investment strategies, preferred but not required
  • Experience in planning and executing of dynamic and innovative internal communications strategies, content, campaigns and events, including change communications and culture programmes
  • Experience of working with and managing digital channels (such as Sharepoint, Teams, Forms, Content Management Systems), including utilising the intranet as an effective communications tool
  • Experience of working across a broad range of subject matters and audience segments, with a flexible attitude and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines concurrently
  • Experience in using tools to track, monitor and analyse usage of our digital channels and engagement touchpoints to inform future outputs
  • High-level of literacy: proven ability to simplify complex subject matter and write engaging copy for a wide range of audiences, as well as accurately proofing a variety of copy and communications materials
  • Excellent eye for design and visual communication
