We’re currently looking to hire a Governance and Risk Senior Manager to join Legal and General Investment Management Global Client Service Operations (GCSO)
The Governance & Risk Senior Manager will lead, challenge and support LGIM Global Client Service Operations (GCSO) in the owning, maintaining and improving the business's operational risks & controls and operational resilience governance, activities and deliverables (regulatory or otherwise), ensuring the ability to safeguard our clients, people and assets.
The role will be instrumental to provide oversight, guidance and support the business to minimise the impact of disruptions through pro-active risk management, preparation and effective responses to incidents and risk events
- Work proactively with Operations Senior Leadership and Management teams to provide oversight and lead the management and delivery on a broad range of initiatives and BAU activities that will help Global Client Service Operations (GCSO) manage its risks and controls environment, reduce risk profile, increase maturity in operational resilience, and improve robustness and scalability of our operating model for future growth
- Lead the Risk Framework across GCSO. Establish policies and process for GCSO to ensure they are fit for purpose and regularly reviewed and adapted to changing environment. Provide insight to Group Risk and wider LGIM Risk team in the formation of wider Group/LGIM Risk framework, policies and standards
- Ensure each team in Global Client Service operations (GCSO) has ownership and awareness of their key risks and that they can identify key areas of potential errors and exposures, and that these are reviewed regularly
- Develop and maintain close working relationships with the Operations teams to drive, facilitate, challenge and be part of their delivery, to improve processes and reduce operational risk profile
- Oversight of GCSO resilience controls (business continuity/recovery plans, incident management processes, team contacts etc) and documentation repository/portal. Ensure they are regularly updated in conjunction with the relevant business functions
- Ensure errors/incidents/events are reviewed and resulting actions identified and managed through to completion and in accordance with agreed LGIM policy and procedures
- Provide key information/updates to relevant Boards and Governance Committees as requested. Chair and/ or attend relevant risk management forums as required
- Lead on ad-hoc events to co-ordinate a GCSO response that involves regulatory, governance or risk considerations
- Ensure that business resilience is designed into any new changes/supporting systems that are introduced and that the associated resilience controls reflect the changes introduced.
- Define and run effective test schedules based on realistic scenarios to validate that the resilience controls and documentation address the potential threats
Provide cover and ad-hoc support to wider Global Operations risk team as appropriate
- Excellent understanding of risk and regulatory issues for financial services business
- Experience in Financial Services, ideally with Investment Management experience
- Practical buy-side experience as well as experience gained in the business as first line Risk manager or Internal Audit
- Excellent knowledge of risk and control frameworks and resilience risks relating to business operations, technology platforms, digital channels, third parties and cloud based services
- Very good knowledge across the following resilience disciplines: Business continuity, Incident and Crisis management, Disaster Recovery, Technology Resilience and supplier/vendor management
- Understanding of technology, suppliers and outsource vendors and their resilience governance/oversight
- Involvement in crisis and recovery during significant events and major operational outages
- First class organisational and action planning skills, able to work to deadlines
- Confident and able to present in structured manner
- Commercial and strategic approach to management of risk and regulatory matters
- Good knowledge of IT environments
