Global Equity Strategist

We’re currently looking to hire a Senior Equity Strategist to join Legal and General Investment Managements Multi Asset Team. The holder of the role will lead equity strategy (regional, sector, thematic, styles) across our £70bn multi-asset fund range, ranging from absolute return to long-only.

This role will report to the Head of Macro Strategy and Research and involves working closely with the other strategists, analysts and multi-asset portfolio managers across the team. The focus is on idea generation (relative value and directional) within a multi-asset context. There will be extensive collaboration with other investment teams in both LGIM and across the broader L&G Group

• Leading on equity strategy for LGIM’s award-winning asset allocation team
• Analysing global equity markets for macro investment opportunities in countries, sectors, themes or styles
• Recommending macro trading strategies for implementation across a broad range of portfolios
• Managing the P&L of directional and relative value equity strategies with dynamically managed multi asset funds
• Co-ordinating equity strategy across LGIM’s front office in London, Chicago and Hong Kong
• Working with our economists and other strategists to build and maintain a consistent house view
• Briefing internal and external stakeholders on the outlook for global equity markets
• Building and maintaining analytical tools including scorecards, indicators and data screens
• Engaging with external research providers to maintain analytical cutting edge

• To hit the ground running in this role you’ll have an excellent understanding of investment theory/fundamentals, data sources and analytical techniques
• Ability to generate relative value and directional trade ideas within a tactical (1-6 month) and longer-term (6-12+ month) context
• Ability to build and maintain a framework for idea generation and asset allocation at the regional and sectoral level
• Quantitative background and knowledge of VBA/Python/SQL preferred
• Strong fundamental analysis and financial modelling skills masked with intellectual curiosity
• Strong macroeconomic background and a good understanding of both the interactions between the main asset classes (Equities, Rates, FX), as well as Asset Allocation at different horizons (tactical, medium term and strategic)
• Educated to degree standard in a science, engineering, economics, IT, business or maths based discipline
