It is an exciting time at Legal & General, with a newly appointed Group CEO who joined us at the beginning of last year. In light of an increased focus on our internal and external corporate events programme, we are looking for a Senior Events Executive to join our growing team.
The purpose of the position is to plan, manage and deliver our corporate events programme with a particular focus on Germany and our key European markets. The role will have responsibility for ensuring that our events are market leading and that our clients’ experience matches our brand promise.
Our corporate events programme comprises in-person, virtual and hybrid events and includes flagship and specialist industry conferences, proprietary conferences, client receptions, industry exhibitions, regional road shows, educational seminars and bespoke client events across the UK and Europe.
The Senior Events Executive will plan, deliver and evaluate events with a particular focus on Germany and key European markets. The role will also be responsible for maximising opportunities to develop our brand awareness across Europe.
They will ensure that all events support our events and marketing strategy and will be responsible for developing innovative and creative event solutions to meet our brand and business goals. The role will be responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the events they deliver and communicating those metrics to a wide range of business stakeholders.
What you'll be doing:
Supporting the delivery of a wide range of events for our business channels including flagship and specialist industry conferences and exhibitions, fund manager lunches & dinners, breakfast seminars, regional roadshows, workshops and bespoke corporate events
Managing end-to-end our proprietary events in Germany and key European markets as well as managing our participation at flagship industry conferences, with a particular focus on managing our overall brand presence, any platform speaking opportunities and any associated client events surrounding industry events as required
Supporting the Senior Events Manager on the delivery of strategic projects as needed
Being a willing and able participant of the Virtual Team(s) you are allocated to within Marketing, working closely with them to understand and deliver on their marketing strategy for the year
Developing and maintaining strong relationships with event suppliers in the UK and Europe including 3rd parties, venues, agencies and external vendors
Communicating confidently and professionally with a wide range of stakeholders across the business with the ability and confidence to prepare and present event proposals to a wide range of business stakeholders
Managing end-to-end event budgets including processing and reconciling invoices and accurate and timely post-event budget reconciliation
Managing delegate online registration systems including Cvent, ON24 and Pardot and using these systems to build event registration websites, send invitation emails and send reports to the business
Coordinating all of the transport and logistics for our events (UK and International) ensuring all event materials and promotional goods are adequately packed and delivered on-site in a timely manner
Using relevant IT packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) confidently
Briefing agencies and third parties confidently on our AV & production requirements in line with our brand guidelines
Producing all related event collateral for events (e.g. agendas, badges, invitations, onsite schedules, event plans, accommodation and travel arrangements)
Providing detailed post-event evaluation, budget analysis, metrics and ROI reporting for the Head of Events and LGIM’s stakeholders in a timely manner
Regularly testing, monitoring, and adapting communications to support understanding and good outcomes for customers. Ensuring communications are clear, fair, and not misleading and are fully compliant with any rules and guidance issued by the relevant regulators, including relevant data protection legislation. Ensuring communications are reviewed and approved by individuals who have the appropriate knowledge, skills, and expertise, and that such approval is recorded
Who we're looking for:
- Strong writing skills including ability to review & draft event materials such as invitations, advertisements, banners and event literature.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to procure economies of scale for the business as required
- Conversant with the regulations and legislation in the UK and Europe surrounding events for the investment industry and a solid understanding of the regulatory framework and compliance requirements that are needed in order to deliver effective events.
- Working knowledge and experience in using Events Software Packages – knowledge of and experience using Cvent, ON24, Pardot and Salesforce
- Event management experience in the UK and Europe ideally in the asset management or the financial services industry
- Strong project management experience in the UK and Europe – with the proven ability to deliver multiple projects with multiple stakeholders within tight deadlines with strong attention to detail
- Experience in working with and an excellent knowledge of a wide range of UK & European venues with a particular focus on Italy, Germany and Switzerland.
- Established strong relationships with key event industry suppliers within the UK and across Europe including but not limited to, production & catering companies, speaking bureaus, creative agencies, promotional gift agencies
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proven understanding of the role of events and the different experiential approaches that can be used to enhance the client experience
- Experience in using Salesforce to track the success of event campaigns would be beneficial
- A self-starter and team player willing to get involved in all aspects of events
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creativity balanced with a strong attention to detail
- Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritise whilst managing several projects simultaneously, along with budgets
- Able to communicate confidently and professionally with senior investment professionals and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
- Willingness to travel for events as required
- Passion for event management
