Job Description

We have an amazing opportunity for a Qualified Actuary to join our Retail Division here at L&G on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract as a Finance Business Partner.

In this role you will be responsible for supporting the "FD of Annuities and Workplace Savings" and the "Head of Finance – Workplace Savings" in driving forward the profitability of L&Gs Workplace Savings business.

This will include supporting work on the development of the financial plan for the Workplace Savings business across all financial metrics, all aspects of financial planning, financial management and financial control.

You will also support on the financial reporting for the Workplace Savings business across all financial metrics and support changes to the assumptions underlying the financial results, which will include working with Group Reporting to ensure that the Prophet model is fit-for-purpose.

You will also establish strong cross functional working relationships with key stakeholders across Workplace, L&G Retail & the wider Group with the aim of utilising the knowledge gained to support strategic and commercial decisions for Workplace Savings.

This is a hybrid working opportunity based from our Central London Offices, which will allow you to work flexibly between your home and the office to find a work/life balance that suits you.


Qualifications

Technical

  • A Qualified Actuary with 3+ Years Post Qualified Experience
  • Knowledge of the drivers of IFRS and SII results.
  • An understanding of the Workplace Savings market - including products, distribution, operations and competitive environment (would be highly preferable, but knowledge of other Unit Linked Products could also be suitable) 
  • An understanding of financial processes, systems and governance.
  • An understanding of risk management philosophy and how to support in the delivery and monitoring of the risk control environment.
  • An understanding of monthly/quarterly/annual financial planning and forecasting cycles.

  • A motivated self-starter, who is continuously looking for opportunities to improve insight, make processes more effective and create enhanced value. 
  • The ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders from across the business.
  • A confident communicator with the ability to concisely convey messages in written or verbal format and adapt their communication style appropriately to suit their intended audience.
  • The ability to manage and prioritise deliverables and facilitate the transition of change into operational processes.
