Legal & General is one of Europe’s largest asset managers, providing clients and partners with complex, responsible investment solutions, across public and private markets. As a global investor, we are present where our clients most need us – from Hong Kong and Singapore, to Chicago and major European financial hubs.
Created by combining our investment management (LGIM) and asset origination (LGC) capabilities, our Asset Management division works with our Institutional Retirement and Retail divisions to benefit our clients and customers – which include individual savers, pension scheme members and global institutions – and deliver enhanced shareholder returns.
Joining us means becoming part of a market-leading team, with capabilities across the full spectrum of asset classes, with an enduring commitment to responsible investment and creating long-term, sustainable value for our clients and partners.
We’re recruiting for a Finance Business Partner to join our Asset Management Division on an 18 Month Fixed Term Contract.
As a Finance Business Partner you will play a pivotal role in driving financial rigour on our largest change programme – the Strategic Target Operating Model (“STOM”). STOM is an outsourcing programme to move significant in-house Middle Office activities to a third-party provider, as well as implementing a new Front Office platform. Furthermore, as part of BAU spend, this role will also lead and support the business to implement a robust process to review outsourcing invoices and ensure business and finance sign off prior to settlement.
In this role you will support the Senior Finance Manager, the Central Programme Office (CPO), Strategic Business Owners (SBO) and Business Cost Owners (BCO) to provide cost management rigour for each workstream; which will include providing accurate and timely reporting to SBO/BCO/CPO and Steerco as well as providing financial insights to optimise programme spend.
The role also involves delivering high-quality financial planning and analysis - including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, scenario planning, and evaluation of spend on a rolling basis. As well as collaborating effectively with other functions, broader Asset Management and Group Finance teams, the Chief Operating Office, Project Management Office, Risk & Compliance and HR.
This is a hybrid working opportunity which can be based from either our London or Cardiff Offices.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading the STOM Programme in terms of cost and delivery monitoring and tracking of benefits against business case. Including ensuring that cost savings commitments are embedded into BAU plans across Asset Management.
- Delivering accurate and timely cost financials by workstream and by resource owner to the SBO/BCO/Steerco highlighting key performance indicators, trends and risk & opportunities.
- Leading rolling forecasts by collaborating with the Project Management Office and SBO/BCO with the appropriate mix of partnership and challenge. This will include communicating risk and opportunities to CPO/SBO/Steerco.
- Identifying and supporting opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and value for money across the programme.
- Supporting Asset Management and Group Finance teams with spend updates and updates on risk & opportunities.
- Monitoring the success of the STOM Business Case against defined key performance indicators.
- Supporting Internal and External Audit queries and updating accountancy papers as needed.
- Supporting the BAU Business such as Global Investment Operations, Chief Data Office, Global Client Services and the Strategic Supplier Relationship Office to review new Outsource Vendor Invoices ensuring the Business have comfort over volumetric data and the application of the Outsource Vendor's rate card. Which will include reviewing and approving resourcing requests/challenging rate card (as required) to ensure adherence to rolling forecast model and overall budget cost envelope.
- Leading and collaborating within Asset Management Finance by providing updated cost allocation drivers for Programme spend and Outsource Vendor Invoices.
- Developing and maintaining financial models and tools to support scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, and spending evaluation.
Who we're looking for:
- Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Knowledge and experience of working in Asset Management industry is desirable.
- Experience with financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
- Experience working in a financial reporting and/or business partnering role.
