For Kassie Siwo (Asset Management , Digital Experience and Data) the apprenticeship is another vehicle to continue her passion for learning: “This is my third apprenticeship. I was at university 28 years ago. In the meantime, my remit has increased, the world is constantly evolving and the business is both adapting and forging new pathways ahead. Through the apprenticeships, I have become a certified coach, I have built my leadership and business acumen and I am now enhancing my technical skills through the Business Value in AI apprenticeship. There is something powerful in this organisation-wide collective and practical learning experience.”

Will Buchan, from the People Data & Insights Team in London, transitioned from a career in special needs teaching to data analysis: “I used data in my previous role as a special needs teacher through applied behavioural analysis, but I wanted to move into a more data-focused position. The apprenticeship helped me develop the fundamentals of data analysis and gain hands-on experience with data tools. I discovered more transferable skills than I initially realised, and the structured learning made the transition smoother.”

For Asfa Hassan (Software Engineering apprentice in Cardiff): “Thanks to the apprenticeship I have been able to attain software engineering skills which are applicable to the business and consolidated through the university course. It has also allowed me to gain recognised qualifications to formalise my understanding of my field.”

As someone with an invisible disability, my manager and team have been incredibly understanding and accommodating. This holistic approach has helped me grow professionally while making me feel valued and respected.”
