Your role at a glance
This role is to to provide advise and guidance on health and safety risks, issues and incidents across L&G's corporate workplaces. It will also playa key role in contributing to the development and implementation of H&S procedures and requirements, liaising across our businesses and partners to ensure a safe working environment is provided for all L&G employees.
What you'll be doing
- Advise on the application of H&S legislation and L&G policies and procedures to provide support and advice to managers, employees and partners
- Monitor H&S data and compliance with legislative and policy requirements, draft reports to internal committees and, feedback and follow up actions to drive change and improve performance.
- Investigate incidents as required and provide guidance on follow up actions, capture lessons learnt and identify areas of potential improvement.
- Contribute to the provision of H&S training and optimise the use of L&Gs communication tools to ensure successful engagement and communication with our colleagues
- Management of the Health and Safety mailboxes, including the provision of appropriate advice and escalation to the H&S & Compliance Manager or senior leaders
- NEBOSH, equivalent qualification or relevant experience.
- Knowledge and experience of the effective management of H&S in the workplace.
- Clear understanding of the legal obligations placed organisations in relation to the workplace.
- Knowledge of current best practice and standards in relation to management of H&S in the workplace.
- Relevant experience in a similar role.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with advanced Excel experience required.
- Experience of working across different teams and business divisions.
- Strong communication and presentation skills are essential.
- Proven experience in influencing others, particularly in encouraging others to change behaviour and processes.
