LGIM Real Assets, and the wider Investment Management business of which it is a part, has established a leading position amongst its peer group in taking a progressive and convictional approach to ESG integration.
We are looking for a Responsible Investment Analyst to support the team and build on the foundations that have been laid to support further step change in our responsible investing approach and integration efforts across the business. The role will support various ESG initiatives across the LGIM Real Assets business, which covers private credit, real estate and infrastructure equity, with a focus on supporting ESG integration across the private credit platform.
Responsible investment integration and development:
- Support the development of the ESG assessment and integration process for the LGIMRA Private Credit portfolio, across corporate, alternative, infrastructure and real estate debt
- Engage with key stakeholders across the business to facilitate integration of new and existing initiatives
- Conduct research and analysis across key responsible investment themes to support LGIM RA responsible investment strategy development
- Support in the creation of new ESG processes and controls
- Support on responsible investment policies for the platform and product development
ESG analysis to support investment due diligence and asset management process:
- Provide support to the private credit investment teams to review and assess ESG risks and opportunities across new and current transactions
- Assess alignment of potential transactions with industry best practice
- Form a view on ESG credentials of private credit transactions and contribute to investment committee papers
- Supporting on the development of the ESG assessment tool and process for LGIMRA Private Credit assets
- Collaborate with the LGIMRA Private Credit investment teams to gather and standardise transaction ESG data
Reporting:
- Lead and support with the preparation and delivery of key reports, including those aligned with our regulatory and internal group requirements
- Support on the carbon footprinting of the LGIMRA Private Credit portfolio
- Private Credit specific reporting on ESG related metrics and impact reporting
- This will include in-depth data analysis and internal and external stakeholder engagement
Training and knowledge building:
- Support development of internal training programme to build awareness on key sustainability and climate-related topics
- Degree 2:1 or above (preferably in a sustainability/science/engineering subject)
- Technical knowledge of climate risk, biodiversity and social impact. Carbon accounting knowledge will be an advantage
- Experience of handling complex data sets and experience in conducting data-driven ESG analysis and working on technical aspects of ESG implementation ·
- Experience of integrating ESG into investment decision making, though not necessarily in a financial institution, will be an advantage
- Good knowledge of regulatory requirements · Analytical thinker with attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines across multiple workstreams and deliver high quality outputs within an everchanging landscape
- Actively nurtures effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure enhanced collaboration and business performance ·
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), experience using Python an advantage
- Relevant experience preferably in a similar organisation or a consultancy
