Job Description

In this role you will facilitate people development through the identification, provision and delivery of a range of skills, product, technical, qualifications and development programmes across Retail Annuities, in support of operational business needs and the overall strategy and vison of the area. You’ll also consultant regularly with your key business stakeholders to identify knowledge and skills gaps and prioritise the design and delivery of all appropriate learning solutions.

You will:

  • Research, plan, design and deliver engaging and informative learning solutions to ensure staff competency is achieved in accordance with business priorities and overall vision and strategy of Retail Annuities.
  • Proactively engage with your key business stakeholders through regular consultancy to identify, prioritise, agree, design and deliver all appropriate learning solutions that supports the ongoing success of Retail Annuities.
  • Deliver an appropriate range of learning solutions to an individual or groups of learners. This includes retirement products and services, risk and regulatory, customer service and experience, process and systems, coaching and feedback, behaviour and culture training.
  • Deliver learning solutions in accordance with an agreed delivery schedule, through the sign-off and approval with the appropriate key business stakeholders. To produce detailed, monthly management information that tracks the overall progress, embedment and success of the agreed learning.
  • Take ownership of your personal development and the continual professional development of our people, using internal and external insight of financial services, Workplace business processes, financial service sector regulations, Government legislation, customer service and Cipd learning best practices.
  • Identify and implement ways to increase the capability of the Learning & Development team, sharing best practice and raising improvements with the L&D Team Leader and the L&D Manager.

 


Qualifications

Knowledge

  • Training techniques: Professional knowledge of principles, best practice, methods and techniques for designing, delivering and evaluating effective pension, retirement products, systems, regulatory, technical, skills, behaviour, culture, coaching, feedback, qualifications and development programmes
  • Industry / regulatory:  Expert knowledge of the financial services industry and the relevant regulatory frameworks. Keeping up to date with your knowledge of retirement and pensions markets, including any external and environmental changes that impact the business area
  • Organisational awareness: Understand the Retail Annuities and broader Retail structure, culture and values that will influence the design of appropriate learning solutions and communicate these messages consistently and effectively to our stakeholders and learners
  • Product and systems: Expert knowledge of current and historical Retail Annuities retirement products, services and systems, included the relevant processes and procedures across the operational teams
  • Office 365: Expert knowledge of key Microsoft applications that are required to identify, design, deliver, measure and evaluate learning and development across the operational teams

Skills 

  • Business relationships: Build and maintain positive and productive working relationships with your key peers and stakeholders through regular consultancy, collaboration and the successful delivery, evaluation and knowledge embedment of all agreed learning solutions
  • Communication: Communicate professionally, effectively and enthusiastically, both verbally and in writing. A strong, engaging communicator that’s able to represent Learning & Development in various meetings across Retail Annuities and the wider Retail business area
  • Learning needs and decision making: To confidently provide guidance, informed decisions and recommendations on appropriate learning solutions based on the identification of needs, measures of success, risks and desired outcomes, using all available information
  • Planning and organising: Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to arrange the delivery of agreed learning solutions, whilst demonstrating the ability to react quickly and effectively to changes in business priorities. Having the ability to work under pressure to deliver success under tight deadlines whilst maintaining the highest of standards
  • Learning delivery: Ability to deliver face-to-face and remote, trainer led learning solutions to the agreed standards, whilst demonstrating levels of judgement and flexibility to ensure delegates receive tailored training, appropriate for their learning abilities
  • Teamwork: Proven ability to work as a team and support your Learning & Development colleagues, peers and stakeholders, whilst also being able to work effectively on your own
  • Personal responsibility: Take ownership of your decisions and resolve issues quickly, as to protect the reputation and working standards across the business area. Always represent Learning & Development positively, in accordance our behaviours and culture

Experience 

  • Consulting with stakeholders to identify learning needs and recommending the most appropriate solutions is essential
  • Training design and delivery in a Financial Services sector is essential including coaching and feedback experience
  • Expert knowledge of retirement products and services, including legislation and regulatory frameworks is essential
  • Expert knowledge of Retail Annuities processes, systems and call frameworks is essential
  • Knowledge of retirement legislation and products is desirable
  • Project training design and delivery is desirable
