Your role at a glance
To create, develop, manage and implement a global digital and social media strategy to support Legal & General’s Employer Reputation, namely our People Value Proposition (PVP) and communications that support it.

You will be:
- Managing the content and structure of Legal & General’s careers website, to ensure L&G’s evolving PVP and associated themes, messages and creative expression are constantly reflected to correctly position the organisation and engage target audiences: through curating, creating and evolving content (including employee stories, articles, videos and images); through SEO and proactive promotion; and through working in partnership with Employee Communications, Talent Attraction, Group Brand and Corporate Affairs.
- Managing continual improvement of Legal & General’s careers website structure, content and functionality, with regular recommendations and action based on the evolution of Legal & General’s PVP; alignment with Legal & General’s business, digital and brand strategies; and external digital, social media and content trends – with the purpose of attracting appropriate potential candidates in partnership with the Talent Attraction team.
- Developing, managing and maintaining Legal & General’s employer reputation social media strategy, to continually engage target audiences (including alumni, existing employees, candidates,unions and other public stakeholders) with Legal & General’s PVP messaging: through an aligned strategic approach; collaborative operating model; and the development of regular quality content in partnership with Employee Communications, Talent Attraction, Group Brand and Corporate Affairs.
- Identifying, advising and supporting key Legal & General colleagues – including PVP theme experts, key leaders and influencers – on social and digital media promotion in relation to employer and individual reputation-building, in partnership with Group Brand and Employee Communications; act as an expert advisor and upskill team members on good practice and innovation in social media strategy and content to ensure continual good standards and build understanding of Legal & General’s PVP.
- Managing relationships with appointed social media and content agencies in partnership with Group Brand and Employee Communications; manage and optimise paid online campaigns to reach target audiences and enhance employer reputation; continually review working relationships, outputs and outcomes of appointed agencies and work collaboratively to drive the achievement of audience engagement objectives at good commercial return on investment.
- Ensuring social and digital media for employer reputation planning, execution and measurement is continually aligned with and supports other communications activity across Legal & General: by building collaborative working relationships with communications and brand colleagues across the organisation; by regularly contributing to content development activity, planning and tools; and by working to aligned measurement and tracking approaches and working collaboratively to improve them.
Qualifications:
Marketing, communications, social media or content management degree,
or equivalent demonstrable experience
Knowledge:
Social media channels and content strategies
Website content management and SEO
Experience/skills:
- Experience in either an agency or corporate organisation, in a social media or website management role.
- Deep experience of core social media channels including LinkedIn, Threads, X, Instagram, Facebook, and of measurement and advocacy tools.
- Understanding of these different channels and how to reach target audiences.
- Data driven and analytical, comfortable providing appropriate social media and website performance reports to senior stakeholders to inform communications and continual improvement strategies.
- Highly organised and brings structure, rigour and consistency to the day to- day delivery of a social media and digital content strategy.
- Understanding of social and digital media trends, ability to assess, consider and find opportunities apply them as appropriate.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders across various teams and business divisions.
