Job Description

At L&G Affordable Homes, we’re on a mission to make a real difference in the UK housing sector. As a top-10 developer of affordable homes, we’re proud to be delivering high-quality, sustainable housing that supports communities and transforms lives. We’re looking for a Development Manager to join our growing team and help shape the future of affordable housing. If you’re commercially minded, collaborative, and passionate about creating lasting impact, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing a pipeline of affordable housing schemes across the Southern Home Counties
  • Supporting the sourcing, appraisal and contracting of s106, package deals, land-led and joint venture opportunities
  • Collaborating with Finance and Operations to appraise and test schemes against investment parameters
  • Leading negotiations with vendors and partners to secure commercially viable deals
  • Overseeing the contracting process and ensuring compliance with governance and risk frameworks
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with developers, consultants and internal teams
  • Monitoring project delivery to ensure high-quality outcomes and customer satisfaction
  • Promoting inclusive, safe and sustainable development practices across all projects

Qualifications

Who we’re looking for:

  • Experience in affordable housing acquisitions or development management 
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of social housing and regulatory frameworks
  • Proven ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with partners and stakeholders
  • A collaborative approach with excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Confidence in financial and risk appraisal of development opportunities
  • A commitment to delivering high standards of quality, value and customer service
  • A passion for creating inclusive communities and driving positive social impact
