Income Protection

Our Family Care Policies

From day one of working with us we offer our employees a wide range of support and services, including paid leave, advice and guidance


Family Leave

Our family leave applies from your first day at L&G (subject to eligibility). Including maternity, adoption, partner leave, shared parental leave, fertility and parental leave​.

Paid Leave for unplanned events

We provide 2 weeks of paid leave per year from the first day of employment to support employees when unplanned life events happen. Examples include, pregnancy loss (under 24 weeks), unplanned caring responsibilities, burglary, accidents, or pet loss. This is in addition to other paid leaves such as Compassionate leave, Health-related absence, and Holiday​.

Paid Public Duties Leave

We support employees to do the things that matter to them. We offer up to 2 weeks paid Public Duties leave per calendar year, Study leave, and a competitive holiday allowance.

Maternity and Adoption

We’re offer 26 weeks paid maternity and adoption leave. This can now be taken from your first day of employment with us .

Parental & Shared Parental Leave

You'll be entitled to parental leave from the first day of employment with us and we offer shared parental leave from 16 to 22 weeks’ paid leave across a 50-week period.

Neonatal Leave

We'll give you up to 12 weeks’ paid leave if your child needs additional medical support in their first 28 days after being born.

Fertility

Our Fertility policy provides reasonable amounts of paid time off for employees for fertility related appointments. This can be for you or your partner.

Pregnancy Loss

To support you if you find yourself in this difficult situation, our Pregnancy Loss policy outlines the options available to you for pregnancy loss under 24 weeks.
